Small but a very scenic park with nice hiking trails and winding bluffs, will definitely camp there when we get a chance.

Caught my first trout there. Beautiful water to wade throughout and up and down, explored it all. Beautiful π water and environment. Few dead fish from people probably leaving it out or throwing em back in after a while but Beautiful. Must fish and see

Hosts(Denise and Larry) were very warm and welcoming. Campsites were decent sizes. Firewood available at campground host site. Restrooms were clean. Park itself is little smaller and has lesser attractions.

Camp sites are a nice size. There is one septic bathroom for each gender spaced throughout the camp. No shower. There is a potable water pump. The nearest place to get food is about a 10 minute drive to Stockton. Perfect for 1, 2, or more people.

The state park only has one fulltime employee and two part-time workers.. if you leave a question and a number to call back they will call you.
Nice place by the river to park
The waterfall is actually a part of Apple Canyon Lake, not the park. I do not know if there are trails on it, but you drive right past it on the road going around the lake. The falls are on the southern part of the lake.
You can drive into Warren, Illinois. It is a small town but has basics.
No, but there is a potable water tap at the front of the campground.
You will need to bring some toys for something to do for the little ones.
This campground was recommended in a book years ago for tent campers and is out of the way except for the small town of Warren, Illinois. It used to be busy on weekends but I don't know how it is now. Bring all your own stuff.
Just pit toilets
Nope and the state park mentioned above is closed and they're draining the lake.
Yes!
Apple River Canyon State Park does not allow watercraft of any kind.
I'd assume so, saw many dogs on the trails when I visited walking or jogging with their owners and families
We do not. However, we offer beautiful sites and lots of nature. It's a wonderful park if you want to get away from it all. π
There are not any atv or bicycle trails in this state park
There are no RV trails there. Google AV trails amd camping and there are at least 4 great places in Il. One being Homestead located between the Illinois and Mississippi rivers, also a lodge and RV rentals for those who don't have their own.
$8.00 per night right now but prices change as the weather gets warmer.
No only fishing
Generally speaking, the family campground is open 4/15 - 10/31. The group campground is open for family camping 11/1 - 4/14, however the water is shut off in the winter.
Couple private residence that sell it just outside of park, gas station in Fulton that sells it or scour the park grounds for downed trees and branches etc...
No
Illinois state parks are free, even Illinois state beach is free.
You can reserve a spot for your family or group picnic, and have a scenic walk, is beautiful in the fall, or nice in the summer also
