If calling or attempting to get any help for food medical or dental, do it yourself. It will be faster. Random private number calls open you up to identity theft and scams. Complete joke of a Democrat run trainwreck as usual.

They NEVER answer their phone, NEVER call back if you leave a message and make it very difficult to be seen! These people don’t seem to be doing much at this office. If you need help, even in an emergency, you’re out of luck

I have been going to this office every week in the past two month and no contacted me yet. Very disappointed

For a group of people that SERVE the public the staff here are not the friendliest. I have yet to EVER have someone answer my phone call, I always get a call back days later. The staff acts as if they have no time to answer a question so they quickly dismiss you. I understand that working in a public facing position is challenging, especially during COVID, but treating people with little grace should never be...the people who need help from the system (and subsequently the staff) have feelings and dignity as well. The feeling that I got from walking through their doors was that I was just another woman with her two children who needed help...and that feeling sucks. People should be very careful of how they treat others because you never when you will be in a position of needing grace and help. I will say the security staff was very friendly and helpful.

The best place to start is your Local Township. If they are unable to see you, they at least will provide you with your options.
You're talking about your medical card you can call the office and they can send you a new one for the link card to
Hi, yes the office is open & they start working from 8:30 Am . You have only Drop Box...No personal Interview...
You should not give your personal information never do that.
No one is assigned to a caseworker anymore. A couple years ago they changed the system to a task based system so there are no caseloads anymore. You're best bet is to come in 1st thing in the morning when the office opens at 8am not 8:30am like the website states. This office opens at 8am. The only appointments are made for SNAP interviews & CASH interviews. Everything else is a walk in.
What card did you lose? If it is the Link Card you can request one in this page: https://ebt-link.illinois.gov/ilebtclient/login.recip
I suggest you go into the office. This one is clean and courteous. You may have to wait an hour though.
They are always like this, after about a hundred messages, you could make contact with someone
8 a.m., weather and power outage restoration permitting...
But if they're short on staff they will not see you on the same day and you have to make an appointment. It's best for you to make an appointment, that way you will be definitely seen.
You can find the list of acceptable documents required listed on the Social Security website.
I had the same issue with myson. Apparently they are switching from the old computer systems from the 80's to the new one which they have migrating everyone's information over. My son had been approved yet his # wouldn't show up when registering for a medical plan. I called the DHS office and it was a matter of them physically filling out a separate from of their own and having to fax it to Springfield. It took another 3 weeks for the problem to get corrected, most likely due to Republican cuts to helping the poor. I would follow up with a representative from DHS and politely state your concerns and inform them that the transition between computer systems might be causing some problems which will be needed to be looked into manually and corrected manually. Hopefully you get someone who is knowledgeable and aware of what is needed to resolve the issue. Keep in mind, getting upset and demanding anything will definitely get you nowhere. Treat people with respect
