We are Hispanics the African American woman at the front desk at the cubb area treated me, my daughter and my husband like if we were criminals. My daughter and husband were sitting on the bench waiting for me to come back from the gift shop (because apparently my daughter wasn't allowed there even with me) called security to escort my husband and my daughter from that area. They were only waiting for me to return. This hospital is trash by the way as if you are under the age of 18 you cannot be a visitor to a patient even if you are with your parents. Trash!!!! Worst hospital ever!!

The surgery department provides great updates to the family waiting via texts and in person. Very helpful. All staff has been so kind and pleasant.

I was at Penn Presbyterian for proactive major surgery only the best hospitals perform. The communication throughout all levels of care and departments could not have been better. My experience with the doctors, NPs, nurses, techs and aides was consistently top notch. The U. Penn visiting nurses home care follow up has been excellent as well, and addressed every question or concern I had. I have a clearly understood and outlined "roadmap" for through follow up. I am reluctant to mention any one individual as a standout because literally dozens were involved in my care and were all excellent. However, because of three decades of exceptional routine care I have with Penn Medicine, I discovered the talents of Dr Michael Ibrahim and his equally talented team. Beyond his obvious talents, I most appreciate his clearly delivered and straightforward communication. I am fortunate I chose this hospital for this life changing event and l am now hopeful for many good quality years to follow because of the care and expertise this organization provide.

Penn Presby is a Level I Trauma Center in the heart of an area where victims of gunshots and stabbings and near fatal car accidents etc are brought. Not saying an asthma attack can't be serious or in dire cases life threatening, but, when everyone goes to the ER instead of Urgent Care or your PCP, the ER (ED) gas to take the most life threatening 1st. Asthma attacks, even emergencies are now commonly treated at Urgent Care Centers. Or, take yourself to a smaller hospital. Pennsylvania Hospital 8th Spruce is far less busy than Presby or HUP. I don't trust other hospitals, I only use Penn! Routine Care visits can help save emergency visits but when necessary choose the hospital that best suits your need. ER at Presby on a weekend when West Philly has at least 3 shootings a day, more on weekends is not your best bet for an asthma visit or the flu or even a simple broken leg. Compound, complex, multiple breaks yes, Penn Presby Ortho Traima Team would be for you.
Detox is very good Rhee been up and running for over 25 years!!!

Enter on 38th St, take a right in the circle and is on the opposite end of where you entered or the other side of the center garden (Scheie Eye Institute)
I don't recall but not surprised if they encourage waiting until out ICU to patient room

I honestly have no idea. I guess you could call the hospital directly to ask. Good luck!
Yes there are
no,there IS a phyc ward, but, not a CRISIS CENTER. ALRHO,as with ANY hospital,NO-ONE is turned away,no matter what the situation.
Most are except in the Scheie Building.
And there probably was 13 ppl next in line..when there is a level 1 trzuma center the by law have to treat the trauma first ie stsbbing and gunshot then heart attack and burn pts...as long as she was given a treatment re of where it was.they go on to the next pt....i spent many years as a trauma nurse and was able to see thezr situations often
I know they have shuttle service from the hotel Please call and ask I think it's a Hilton
Geeze can be like $12 My son parks outside on the street. And the lot is pretty far away. Not worth the aggrevation and especially the money to park in the hospital lot. Lot next to the hospital is less expensive. Be well ! Does this help at all?
