Every time I've contacted them in the last few years I've either been given the run around or have been flat out told no and to contact Adult Protective Services instead, who do the exact same thing, referring me back to the Disability Law Center. I've suffered tremendous abuse and many laws have been broken in regards to my care, my living situations, and so on and they don't seem to care. I'm planning to get a ride to their offices in person with the hope that it will be more difficult to ignore me if I'm sitting there in my wheelchair in front of them explaining my situation. Will update this review after my physical visit and let y'all know if I get anywhere. Being disabled and at the mercy of others is terrifying and being brushed off by the only places who claim to care or do anything else in incredibly depressing and makes one want to give up completely.

What good is a disability services center when it discriminates against people with atypical disabilities?! They refused to help me or provide resources AT ALL because my disabilities are unusual, I'm stuck in a dangerous domestic situation, suffering from neglect and a neurodegenerative disease, and I can't get help on my own because society makes it near impossible for me to do so. Thanks a lot.

I can't figure out the negative reviews, because this was not my experience. I normally wouldn't post a review at all, but since I'm seeing so many people have had a bad time, I wanted to share that they helped me tremendously. The one issue I ran into was it does take them a long time to get back to you, file things, etc. But they literally gave me thousands and thousands of dollars of free legal work, and asked for nothing in return. If you think you have a disability issue, it doesn't hurt to try them.

These responses are no way to talk to the Deaf! Are we still in the middle ages? The Deaf are not Dumb! Ignorance seems to be a trait all people can share. We rise as equals or not at all. Song by Joesph Arthur...bless you!
I’d like to know how you can actually contact them online!
That’s outrageous.
Should be a reasonable accommodation for him. Call the Disability Law Center tomorrow, they are amazing!
Contact the DLC about understanding if father is not paying, but SSI is deducting.
I would call the disability center and speak with an employee rather than putting the question to the public here.
Yes. The only way around that is to establish, via what's called a reasonable accommodation request, that you need a live-in aide. For me, it's a family member, but it can be anyone. They don't have to be a nurse, etc.. But, unless you have proof that your disability means that you need someone there more regularly, you do have to follow those rules.
You need to contact disability law center diectly. You need to call them today.
