Upon being forced to learn how to sew for my business, and having zero prior experience with using a sewing machine, I bought a sewing machine online. After watching a couple instructional YouTube videos about my machine and sewing in general, it was apparent that I was in over my head. My purchase came with a free beginner sewing class coupon, which led me to Sew What! Inc. I had assumed that after taking the class, I would come away with minimum knowledge about sewing that I hadn’t already taught myself. I almost didn’t show up for the free beginner’s lesson, but am so thankful that I did. The super sweet and very patient instructor, Bunny, proved me wrong from the first minute by explaining the different threads, needles, accessories, etc. She had obviously been sewing her whole life and I was lucky to have her explain my machine to me. She even helped me focus on the aspects of sewing that I would need specifically for my business. I wish I had known how helpful this place was before I bought the machine online, and my accessories at a generic craft store. I left feeling very confident and happy to have made an acquaintance that I can rely on for help in the future. I’m a self proclaimed amateur seamstress now, and will never go anywhere else for my sewing supplies and advice. Five giant gold stars….all day!

My husband and I went into the store just to look around and see what they have to offer, when the owner I assume came to the front and asked if we needed any help, I informed her that I didn't at the time and was just looking and she proceeded with following me and my husband around the store as if we was criminals only because we was black..Once we noticed how she was acting we left and as we left out she locked the door behind us. I feel very offended and still can't believe that kind of racist stuff still going on.

Our class calendar is available on our website, www.sewwhatde.com, with detailed information on topic as well as date(s) and time(s) for class. We look forward to seeing you, even if it's online.
