Would you like bread and pickles? π T-bone steak is enough for 2 peopleπ I added mashed potatoes as a side dishπ We also shared the cheesecake for dessert π With this, I'm really full π₯Ήπ₯Ήπ₯Ήπ₯Ήπ₯Ή I enjoyed it πππ

I was disappointed! Or maybe the expectations were too high. Meat not excellent and badly cooked. Asked for medium but was almost raw in the center. Burnt chips. Historic furniture⦠but too much! I would say more "dated". Excessive cost! But we are in NY and in an overrated local.

I went with my kids, and we had a ball!
Business casual is the best way I can describe it for you. Not too dressy but definitely not a dress down establishment.
15 k plus on ceilings, they have thousands more in storage in the basement.
Our host staff is there to answer all your questions after 9:00 am Mon-Fri and after 11:00 am Sat-Sun.
My kids had a great time. 10 and 15 y.o. Mature kids will appreciate a little more since it's very historic, and there are so many artifacts on the walls. Lincoln stuff really got my older kid interested. For toddlers, this place may be too dark, damp, and boring. Good luck.
Dress according to your occasion. This place could be casual, business casual, business or semi-formal.
Absolutely criminally tragic that this historic haven for pipe smokers from around the world no longer allows pipe smoking. The corrupt NYC elitist tyrant politicians who imposed this outrageous ban should be banned from public office.
The good thing is they have the same menu in the Bar. But its also crowded. There you should get a Table if you are early enough and ready to wait. Recommendation would be make a reservation
Yes.
Business Casual is certainly acceptable. When speaking with them before we visited they said 'wear whatever you're comfortable in' so whilst there are a number of people in smart outfits, there certainly is no dress code.
Did you try open table app? Or give them a call.
You have to call but they're pretty nice.
It is best to make a reservation. Might be hard to just walk in. Limited seating for social distancing right now.
Need a reservation but you can chance it if it's super slow & you're flying solo. Try a weekday and not dinner hour and it may be slower.
Not sure...this was the patio cafe lunch menu. Filet Mignon on a skewer was $27
Yes, Friday and Saturdays are booked weeks in advance. Book early and book often. Well worth the wait.
I would add that on a Sunday street parking is easy.
Would recommend not driving around that area, if you can avoid it
Would love to answer but can't read the language it's asked in. It was one of the best meals I have ever had!! Service wonderful too.
The steaks are so good you'll get lost in the eating experience.....your date would be offended...Assuming he/she is not the carnivorous sort...:)
They serve the best steak you'll ever eat ......period.
You should call them and tell them you will be a lil late and give the estimated time
Yes, I suggest the cheesecake and or the homemade carrot cake. Giant slice of goodness, can definitely be shared.

Yeah, I'd go to the restaurant in person to ask. There may be a a chance that they don't do gift cards. If anything, I'd at least call to ask just to make sure!
Shorts would be okay, very relaxed atmosphere despite how some people might be dressed and the high level of service.
Late. Maybe around 10:30 on Saturdays
