Excellent service & food was outstanding.... their reputation held very true! Group of 5 friends, all out of state & our first visit, found on Open Table. Atmosphere was lively and lively and felt rich in history. Entrees included swordfish, filet, fried shrimp & pork chops. They were late getting the swordfish to the table but greatly apologized & offered a complimentary dessert. I had a wedge salad that was wonderful, the ciabatta table bread was excellent as well. Nice wine selection... I chose a glass of Malbec to go with my cider glazed pork chops. The chops were very good & the baked apples & cider glaze was outstanding & a generous portion. We ordered sides for the table of garlic mashed potatoes and the cream corn au gratin which was an interesting twist and very good! Everyone loved their entrees & the desert options were very good. I had the dark chocolate pate with mixed berries that was as tasty as it was beautiful. The New York Chocolate Layer Pudding Cake was also reportedly rich & moist. We would not hesitate to return to this fine restaurant when traveling in this area again and will definitely recommend to ot least recommend to others! There is a nice parking lot right across the street and we felt like we pulled into one of the last spaces available that wasn't handicapped. Our reservation was 5:45 pm so I wonder how available parking is at a more later/prime time.

By far one of the best restaurants anywhere. The ambiance, food, and staff are second to none. I have sample many things on the menu but, it's the seafood that has me always coming back. The staff is well educated on the food and wine selections and shows pride and excellence in their profession. This is my family's favorite place to go to celebrate and treat ourselves.

A M A Z I N G! Everything about my dinner experience was excellent. I was seated quickly (I had a reservation) and my menu had “Happy Birthday Katherine” written at the top. So special and a sweet touch. I ordered the crab cake. At first I was a little disappointed that it was only 1 crab cake but it was huge and definitely filled me up. The food was out quickly and the service was amazing. Everything was so delicious. There were multiple servers clearing our table, bringing us drinks, and giving us dessert recommendations. Our main server was Amanda and she was incredible - Very attentive, kind, and funny! The dessert was also phenomenal, we got the crème brûlée and a piece of chocolate cake and it did not disappoint. Only downside is the parking, had to park a couple blocks away but oh well it’s downtown so I didn’t expect much parking close by.

Unbelievable experience! From the atmosphere to the service this place is special. Our server Ben went out of the way to make our family dining experience one to always remember. The food was absolutely phenomenal. We had the best crab cakes ever (no breading!)! The escargot, jumbo chilled shrimp and lobster were exactly what one should expect from fresh east coast seafood. The filets were definitely high end. The desserts were truly the icing on the cake. We can’t wait to come back to Bookbinder’s! Thank you all for a great experience.

Yes
No, this is a sit down restaurant. Nothing is sold in cans here
Yes we do and have always served live Maine lobsters. It is the 1st and still biggest Bookbinder’s tradition 2nd only to our Snapper “turtle” Soup. We have a lobster in front of the restaurant and, if you’d like, you pick out your own lobster. We generally carry 2.5 to 5 pound lobsters. Thanks for inquiring John Taxin, Owner
I mean, yes, there is no reason a child couldn't eat her, especially the 7 year old, but it's a bit too fine dining, in my opinion. I certainly wouldn't bring my kids here for both cost and atmosphere reasons.
Yes you can!
