Giving a 5 star review for Jaylen and his excellent service!!! Otherwise, the place was out of ribs, so we ordered and got the last two ribeyes that looked like NY strips. I was happy that my steak was well done, but so was my husband's who ordered medium. His food was cold, too. Appreciate Jay for trying to make this a good experience - thank you!

Loved the vibe and decor. Pretty loud and rowdy. But it was a Sunday night. Got the pretzel for an appetizer. It came with sweet mustard. I don't care for mustard so I got beer cheese added. It was phenomenal. I got the Mac n cheese for my main course. They make it with beer cheese. It was delicious. Good date night spot, or somewhere to go with friends. Some people brought kids , even late at night, so that is an option. Prices were ranging from 8$ to around 20ish $ dollars, depending on the drink, or food you select. Will go again :)

I ordered takeout here. Capital Ale House gets points for fast service and large portions. The restaurant felt very clean and busy when I picked up mid-week. While out of an item, the restaurant made a quick substitution when I arrived. We had the wings with Mexicali seasoning and ranch, salad with strawberry; brie; candied walnuts, and macaroni and cheese. The wings were very good, but may friend found them fattier. The Mac n cheese was nice and creamy with beautiful cavatappi noodles but seemed to lack the sharpness of cheese flavor. The salad had strawberries with the look and texture of being cut several hours earlier and there was no dressing. It’s great that the restaurant is open late for Richmond unlike a lot of places. It’s okay overall.

Came for dinner on a Monday around 6pm and was surprised to see so many people. Then I ordered the smokehouse burger (with bacon) and understood why. Our waitress was really nice and the burger was great. It's a nice thick patty and it was cooked just right (I asked for it medium). I also asked for ranch to go with my fries. The meal was everything I wanted it to be.
