We are not wine connoisseurs by any means. We do however do love a sweeter wine and discovered Woodmill Winery at Burton Farm as a vendor out front. We have since bought cases of their wine and this was our first trip to the Winery and we loved the views over the grape vines. The Strawberry Wine Festival is a neat event with vendors and food. We are looking forward to going without an event and seeing the rest of the Winery. Must See.

Growing up in the south, my grandpa made muscadine wine. The Woodmill wine reminds me of simple times, family, and southern traditions. It's simply the best! The vineyard is peaceful and the facility is warm and inviting.

We visited a winery today! After discovering Woodmill at the Southern Christmas show I've been hooked! It's about 30 min from Morganton through the country and we had a great time! The wine tasting & glass was very affordable (like $6 per person I think) They also give you a complementary half glass of your favorite wine and the wine glass as a souvenir. I swore to my husband if we could get remarried, we'd do it here it's so beautiful!

Enjoyable place to enjoy some wine. The setting is beautiful, and the wide decks and gazebo offer many places to enjoy the wines. We had a delightful picnic here with several bottles of their wines. You can see how the winery would be a good venue for a wedding or other celebration. The wines are mainly muscadine, scuppernong, or berries, and they come in multiple flavors of dry to sweet for each varietal, as the winery adds sugar to reach a desired sweetness. This resulted in 33 options of wines on the menu the day we stopped in. The wines were overall quite sweet, and were good for the styles.
