I lived in Hoover for 6 years and loved every single trip I took to Publix. Everyone was always friendly and helpful, and the free cookie at the bakery for my daughter was a lifesaver at times. I made a lot of friends just shopping there. About 2 years ago, I moved from Alabama to Eastern Montana, and after paying $4.50 for a box of Mac n cheese, $2.50 for a gallon of water, and almost $6 for a gallon of milk, the idea of moving back to Alabama and having a chance to once again shop at a Public was a bright, shining light at the end of a very dark tunnel. When I arrived in Huntsville, I had my belongings, my daughter, and a fiancee in Montana finishing up a work contract before we married and she returned with me to Huntsville. Unfortunately, the job I moved to here wasn't what I expected, and my fiancee almost immediately started to commit acts of infidelity upon my departure. Two days ago, she called off our engagement a mere 25 days before we were to married. It has been a really, really awful week. Today, realizing that I needed to buy food, I happily typed Publix into my phone and followed the directions to the nearest location. I found everything I was looking for quickly, and at better than half the price of what I was used to. I was slightly cheerier, but I remembered the cookies. Maaaaybe, just maybe, I could get a cookie. It would make me feel better. Who doesn't feel better after eating a cookie?! So, I head to the bakery, and I encountered the single most beautiful human being I have ever seen. I mean like...I forgot what I was even there for. I saw the cookies and asked for one. She cheerfully obliged, and leaving her the choice between chocolate chips and sprinkles, she hands me a chocolate chip cookie. I knew when I got there that I wanted chocolate chip, I simply lost 45 points from my IQ and forgot everything in my head upon seeing this cookie welding seraphim. It was the best cookie I had ever had. I think. I don't even care. Supermodel cookie. Traipsing away still dumbstruck and bashful, I remembered that I needed forks, so I head over to buy forks and am encountered by one of the nicest ladies anywhere. She asked how I was, I told her that I was doing pretty bad and that I just got a cookie from an impossibly beautiful woman and felt better. She said she was happy for me and I continued on. At the checkout, she approached me and told me it's a bad day, not a bad life. Like, out of the blue, just to be nice. I told her what had happened, and she was super nice about it. I finished up my shopping, paid 40% what I would have anywhere else, saw a real life angel, and got to talk to one of the nicest people I've encountered in years. Therapists beware. All anyone has to do to feel better is to go to this Publix and shop. 7/5 stars. Would drive from Mobile to shop there.

Always Quick, Friendly, Helpful. Awesome Pharmacy and Deli. Thankful for ALL of their dedication to the community, especially to feeding and supplying essentials to Health Care workers throughout this Pandemic.

Visiting from Ga (03/20/22) - walked from hotel to get some deli items for dinner. Very rude worker in the hot bar part of the deli. Not sure if she did not want to serve me because of my color or she is rude daily ( I do not play the color or race thing). I am hoping that that’s just the way she is daily. It took 15 minutes for her to even acknowledge me. I order chicken tenders - she proceeded to tell me rudely a pound would only give me 4 tenders. I asked that she not give me all larger tenders as I do not like the larger ones too much meat and very thick. She proceeded to ensure that she gave me only 4 large tenders costing me $11:45. Very hateful and threw the bag of tenders and wedges on the top of the counter for me to get. She then proceeded to assist the white lady with a better attitude. In my opinion if you do not like to serve “All” people you should not be in a service oriented job. Maybe she was having a bad day - you still have to provide good service no matter what. Her attitude is a reflection on Publix. 🤔☹️

This Publix is one of my favorite, it's smaller than a traditional Publix but it has a friendly farm market feel. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. They are so willing to help. There is street and parking garage parking. There are fresh flowers, balloons, amazing fresh salads, rotisserie chickens, a pharmacy, a red box and a nice selection of organic produce. Don't forget the cold beer isle! Bottom line it's a great stop.

Regular store hours. Same
Not sure about this brand name but the deli here is ACES including the custom sandwiches, hot meals, and hot soups along with fresh baked breads & baked goods.
They will order products for you if they don't normally carry them! Best service out of any grocery store in town.
