This place needs more cashiers or more attentive ones at least. I scanned a gift card at a self check out, hoping to avoid the eternal line this particular store always has. The self checkout said I needed an associate to continue purchasing the gift card. I watched the cashier finish the first customers full buggy, start and finish the second, then start on a third, all while the self checkout light is blinking for an employee and there's not another one in sight. All she has to do is key in a quick log in, takes 2 seconds, I know because I use to work for DG. Then the man in line behind me who thinks I'm still waiting at self checkout (I was going to give up and go through the line) cuts in front of me. Knowing this cashier who never even looked my way was probably going to have me wait on her to get him and anyone else who happened along, I just left in stead of wasting anymore of time waiting for help getting a gift card 🙃 Oh and one of the employees here accused my not so technology savvy mother of trying to steal from them when she was just oblivious on how to properly use the self check out and accidently left without finalizing a card payment. They knew who she was called her work and told her the issue and then treated her like a thief so maybe just screw this store in general.

Every time I go into the Dollar General in Gainesboro, the employees are always willing to be extremely helpful, especially Kori and Kelly. They were willing to help me with purchasing my food items out of their own pockets. I even tried to repay Kelly for how much she helped me, but she would not let me.

All that needs to be said in my opinion is, the employees are amazing an show of the kindest people you could encounter in a day. I mean they tolerate me staying humorous an maintaining courtesy with a smile. That says alot in my opinion.

Usually very messy. Merchandise usually still in plastic wrap not being stocked just sitting. Nice cashier individuals. Just maybe have stocking crew at night. Still a good store
