I have adopted from this shelter as well as having a precious pet put to sleep when medically necessary. I have also volunteered there on several occasions in the past. I've even boarded my dog's there while on vacation. These people have big, big hearts. They try their level best to insure all animals get the best possible care and hopefully, a great forever home. It's a difficult and emotional job, but the triumphs way outweigh the sorrows. I have the greatest respect for this shelter and the people that make it what it is!

Our adoption fee is $41, which includes micro-chip, heart-worm test, all vaccines excluding rabies, dewormed and initial flea treatment. If the pet comes to us unaltered it must be fixed before adopting and there would be an additional fee of $50 for a neuter and $75 for a spay making males a maximum total of $91 and female a maximum total of $116.

I try to update our posts and bios as the pets wait the required seven days and become available for adoption. Puppies must wait 14 days due to required vaccines and some of the more timid dogs we hold longer to work with before placing them up for adoption. You can find our most current pets available on facebook at Coles County Animal Shelter, click on our home tab and scroll down. They are pictured with short bios and are marked and removed as they are adopted.
They should be.
