That's done at the DMV, not the Department of Transportation. You would want to check their website, but I don't believe they are requiring appointments.

IDOT doesn't handle registration, the secretary of state does. I think they have a surcharge for using a credit card.

On Route 78 between Brimfield IL and Laura IL there is a huge pile of asphalt chips. Are these chips for sale to the general public? How about to a not for profit nontaxable corporation?

This sounds like a scam since IDOT does NOT issue Driver's Licenses or IDs; that is handled by the Illinois Secretary of State. Most processes can only be done in person, so there would be no need to send sensitive information to anyone.

I received a text from IDOT "Driver License Waiver" asking me to validate personal details including my Social Security Number. I did not fill out that information as I suspect it could be a phishing scheme. I am asking for your response.

It is a scam. IDOT does not use Driver's License or your SSN.

Wrong department. Go through Secretary of State. The money order will also be made out to them.

This is not a function of The Department of Transportation. Title transfers are handled by the Secretary of State located on South Dirksen, across from the Crown Plaza.

There are employees working 24×7. Normal office hours are 8-4:30. Bidding and Contract Letting schedlues are announced elsewhere. Oversize/Overweight Truck permits are handled online.

Cindy, you need to ask the Illinois Secretary of State. Department of Transportation handles roads, Secretary of State handles vehicles and Driver's Licenses
