Excellent experience 7 out of 5 stars from the 2 security officers to the 3 women involved in addressing the needs of my elderly Mom. My one issue being how careless I was not knowing of this survey and not getting all 5 of their names to commend them. 5 DMV employees doing Virginia proud. I thank them all and this DMV office as well!👍🏼

I was at the churchland office of the ports. DMV today to take the road test. It has been a long time in the making but with the help of the friendly staff I finally got it accomplished. I was fifth in line outside at 730am and was a walk in and luckily they had an opening at 8am for the road test. They had a few people call in and were short staffed but still opened and ran the office as if it were a regular day with everyone at work. It was a little slow but they all had positive attitudes.

They will give you a temporary id and mail you the permanent one. I know this is how they all do it in VA. In other states they will hand you your permanent one. I do not like this about waiting hours, you will get the same results via the DMV website
You can get his birth certificate using your Id. You are his mother so they allow it and you get it the same day.

Walk in. They don't take appointments that I know and don't so road tests in inclimate weather
you stil have to take the test and drivers test. both easy. on android theres these apps that helped me pass easy.
They can issue temp tags, but that usually comes happens when you purchase a vehicle thru a dealership. Their website should have more detail.

Ricky is right the quickest way.to get the process going for getting a license is online but u can always just google anything now days and that will be quick way to the to get information you looking for

I don't think so. You can mail them in but they're running 8-12 weeks out, too. Your best bet is to keep checking the website for cancellations and check for other surrounding offices. If you only need a birth certificate, you can also go to Vital Records.
Unfortunately the appointments are in high demand and are quickly booked for the 3 months they have available. According to their website "DMV Selects do not issue or renew driver's licenses, learner's permits or identification cards." So booking a 3 month appointment with the primary dmv is really your only option unless one of the other satellite services handles ID's.
In as much as booking appointments online is the preferred method, if you have no access to the internet, DMV will still make accomodations, if you walk in person to book appointments. Book appointments online or in person to be scheduled for an in person service. Hope this helps.
