Pros: Good location- it's close to the UM campus and downtown. It's walking distance to anything you'd need, and so very livable if you don't have access to a vehicle. Cons: Terrible soundproofing. Every word spoken to your right or left, and above or below you is extremely clear. You can hear your roommates shift in bed through the walls, and nearly the fluttering of their eyelashes whenever they blink. Aside from the maintenance crew, it was my experience in two years that the rest of the people employed by the building were impatient, unhelpful, and unsympathetic. It was really dreadful whenever a situation would come up that they'd need to be involved with.

As a parent I would not let my kids live in the Roam again. Roam does not do what they say. False advertising and marketing for what they offer. For example, deck was not open until late spring. Not once did my kids have notice when maintenance workers would come into their apartments. It was an awful experience. Upon moving out they kept 80% of his damage deposit. I looked at his living area when he graduated and it was spotless. Because of Roam policy others lived in his 4 room sitution so he could never completely clean the kitchen because his roomies still lived there. That is an example of the game they play. they held onto hus damage deposit.

Internet is good. Pet friendly. It's nice to have roommates, but still have your own bathroom and lockable door to your room.

Dog friendly. Great internet. Great amenities. Friendly staff. Close to everything. I'm friends with all my roommates that completed their leases. Lived here for 2 yrs. Would lease again and recommend it to others.

The restaurants are Wally & Buck, Front Street Pizza, and Ducrey Chocolate Maker! They are all great! We definitely recommend giving them a try.

Hello Sally, First of all we are so sorry to hear that you have been having this issue, In order to help us resolve the issue for you could you please let me know what times you are hearing these smoke alarms going off? The construction is required to test them to ensure that the building is up to code for fire safety, as certain portions are still under construction, we will do out best to ensure that these tests happen at times that will pose as little inconvenience to you as possible.

Can you apply for Roam as an incoming freshman at the University?

Caroline Kiemele | Oct 4, 2018
Abby Strellnauer | Oct 4, 2018

To answer your question, the University requires all freshman students to live on campus their freshman year (this applies to students with less than 30 completed credits) unless the Director of UM housing has approved a release for you to not live on campus, which they do on a case by case basis. If you have already received your release from the University, you are more than welcome to apply!
