A (Hi)
Hiked trails 7, 5 and part of 2 on our trip here. Trails are rugged and the scenery is amazing. Lots of sloping terrain. The tunnel was really neat. The park has a lot of picnic areas. I suggest hiking shoes for the rugged trails and bug repellent. Paths are narrow at times and can be muddy and slick.

There is an entrance fee of $7 if you’re instate and $9 if you’re out of state. This park has several beautiful outlooks and an awesome nature center showcasing several types of live snakes, reptiles and birds. Watch out for snakes on the trails! We crossed one while hiking a very well traveled path. There are some great hammock spots near the creek bed.

Oh my gosh, Clifty Falls State Park is BEAUTIFUL! Such a huge park filled with so much to see. As a plus size hiker, it's definitely doable but be prepared for stairs and inclines! So worth it though! Lots of beautiful bridges overlooking creeks and streams. Also a neat little cave to check out! (and cool down near, thanks to the air that shoots out of it - it's like nature's AC!) Highly recommend checking out if in the area/planning a day trip/or are wanting to have a picnic with a view!

Beautiful all around. Had a blast. But we went when there was ice and snow and my husband almost fell down a huge drop off because he slipped at a spot that happened to not have a handrail. He caught himself on the edge and I helped him back up, but all in all-beaitiful. We had fun at the nature center. We climbed the look out and gawked at the "cloud maker" (the factory) All in all, we'll go back when it's warmer.

Yes ! I had cell coverage all over the park .
Yes. The campground is decent. The staff is amazing the DNR workers are amazing. It's a nice place worth checking out
The website stated that we were not to remove anything from the park.
No. Lots of waterfalls and hiking in the canyon, a pool, a tunnel and also an inn with restaurant and indoor pool.
Yes on the trails that go by the water you can wade into it
Yes, and they are spread out around the park near different trail heads and points of interest like play areas and scenic views!
There is an indoor pool in the inn. There were some wet noodles coming out .
In case you want to see the trail layout: https://www.in.gov/dnr/parklake/files/clifty_falls_trail.pdf The trails are amazing and very easy to identify and access.
Yes both kind of sites.
Dogs are good if on a leash or a lead in the campground
Yes on the electric; there is water but not at every site.
Please call us at 812-273-8885 to get the most up-to-date trail conditions. If you ever have questions about specific trail conditions or water levels, it's always best to call the park directly so we can get you in contact with someone who's been out in the field.
There's an indoor pool with a basketball hoop but it is not heated(or if it is it doesn't work). There is a hot tub though.
Check with DNR. They would have the most up to date prices
There are rooms available at the Clifty inn which is inside the park. A fishing license is always necessary. Clifty Falls is not in the public access fishing areas for the state of Indiana. To find out more, go to in.gov/dnr
Any. They would enjoy any of them. Maybe the ones in the creek when there is water and it is warm, would be more fun for them, but I'd take kids on any trail.
Thank you for your service, Mr. Colling.
No bears down there. You'll be safe.
Yes but if you want a shelter you need to reserve it.
The Park allows camping with a generator in the campground, BUT they have to be shut off by 11pm
Yes
The Park rules explained:. At the top they are fragile and slippery and very dangerous - do not go there. The bottom is accessible only by going up the creek bed, which can be impassable when water is flowing.
From the North entrance, it is just 3 minutes. From the South entrance, you first have to drive across the park, which probably takes 10 minutes.
Yes with lasso
Depends, but on average $100 a night
https://www.in.gov/dnr/parklake/6468.htm
Yes up pass the camp ground
7 Dollars a car but you can get a state park pass for 50 Dollars that will let you in all Indiana State Parks for a full year, and seniors for 25 Dollars a year....
They're not very big. I would bring iit, just to be sure. 😉
Pool hours may vary, for the most immediate times, call (812) 273-8885
Yes they have pool and a small slide nice for the kids
You need a fishing license to fish unless it's the free weekend that comes once a year... Which has already passed. There's water, there's likely fish - but I've not fished here personally, so I can't speak to the quality of fishing.
Sunday was a free day but all the other times they charge$7 for in-state $9 out of state annual in state $54
I'd stay at the Clifty Falls in and has beautiful views overlooking the Ohio River Madison just 5 minutes away
I believe there is, may be at the campground or large picnic area
$7 a day for in-state 9 for out-of-state 54 in state for an annual pass
$7 indiana residents $9 out of state, right now there just charging for weekends though
Out of state (Indiana) is $9. I believe in state is $7
You can see them easily but you cannot get down to them anymore.
Not like a KOA. More primitive. But some hookups. Muddy now!!!
Hi Addie. We do not allow off-road vehicles in our state park, or any other state park. The DNR does manage two State Recreation Areas, Interlake and Redbird, that allow off-road vehicle use. Please check the DNR website for more information. Thanks for your inquiry.
Clifty falls , little clifty falls, tunnel falls and Hoffman falls
No, I don't think so. The trails in the park are not that extensive.
Thanks, Bob. I guess a better way to word my question is, we have rented a RV site and I want to know if I'm able to also set up a tent on that site for my kids to sleep in? They want to get the tent camping fuel but mama and I love the air conditioning.
Depending on your athletic and physical abilities. Use the map to help you make your decision. Some trails are much more steep. I believe the shortest trail is under a mile. You can always use the ADA "trail" to see the falls!
You will need to call the park ahead of time. State parks close their pools at different times depending on lifeguard staffing.
Hi Heather. We do offer RV sites but we do not permit long-term stay. You are limited to 14 days before you have to vacate the site. Thanks for your inquiry!
Parts of the park is ok just depends on the carrier but i think 911 is available.
Hi Rachel. We do not have any canoeing available within the park and to our knowledge, we're not aware of any canoe rentals nearby. We're sorry we couldn't be of more assistance.
I don't fish myself, but as far as I am aware, there is no fishing, since the only water is Clifty Creek which isn't big enough for fishing.
Yes and you can do it online just like a campsite on Reserve America
No. I doubt that would be very good for anyone involved.
I believe the park entrance fee is $7.00, or you can get an annual state park pass good foe all Indiana State parks for $50
There are some pretty easy paths to see the falls. One of them is even handicap accessible
Trails can be narrow and on drop off edges with no railing. Should be on a leash & get along with other humans & dogs.
During the summer, pool hours may change because of weather and staffing. Please contact the property office for exact times before your visit. You can call at 812-273-8885.
Yes
Yeah what's the question here us local guides could figure this out we are professionals
Not sure. For campers I don't think so due to water hookups freezing
Always call to be sure
The terran is to step to take even mountain bikes on for most experienced bikers, and there are to many steps to enhibit bikes.
It all depends on the time of month... it vary..
No cabinsand no fishing
