This place has been here for a very long time. I remember it was a big deal when it first opened - Chicago tends to get excited by new cuisines that try to appeal to a Midwestern pallet. Surprisingly, though, even after 20 years Jin Ju does not pander. I had the most delicious kimchi tofu bowl - I could have been in Los Angeles or Seoul it was so good. If you ask, they will even make the Kim Bap without the crab stick to make it gluten free, which of course I ordered and loved.

Food is pretty good, but they charge extra for extra banchan which is something I've never experienced in easily dozens of Korean restaurants.

While I’m Chinese, not Korean, I’ve had a lot of Korean food, and THE BEST dish here in my humble opinion is the Sam Gyup Sal. LOOOOVE IT SO VERY MUCH! Literally as good as anything my mom has cooked, and she’s an amazing traditional cook. I only wish they had the Sam gyup Sal as a main dish, and also wish they had it on their uber eats menu. The mandoo and other dishes here are also quite yummy too! Love!

The food is so good! It feels like someone's loving grandmother cooked everything in back for you. Servers are incredibly kind and thoughtful. Drinks are delicious. Amazing all around!

Jin-joo, also spelled Jin-ju, is a Korean unisex given name. The meaning differs based on the hanja used to write each syllable of the given name. There are 43 hanja with the reading "jin" and 56 hanja with the reading "joo" on the South Korean government's official list of hanja which may be registered for use in given names.[1] For example, the name could be written with hanja meaning "pearl" (珍珠 or 眞珠).
