I love real auctions! I go to as many as I can and see deal all the time. Curt's however has two issues that frustrates most people I have spoke with in the audience. Auctioneers are required to follow certian guidelines and they do but they use the reserve price to avoid true bidding. They may as well come out with the item and say this is $2 who wants one? However here is the dirty part that is frustrating.. they allow the bid to continue only when the price begins to exceed his reserve and on rare time's he will lower it back to his reserve price.. now I would have no problem with that at all as a auction is and should be based on the bidders and does or should come with a risk for both the seller and bidder. The fun part is seeing how high an item will go and that's based on your bidders. It should be a win some lose some environment for both parties like a gamble but here he makes it clear he is a second hand Walmart charging full price Walmart prices.
