Yes, there are several camping areas around the lake. The camp grounds are maintained by the US Forest Service. There are also public and private campgrounds along the upper Kern river. Due to construction, the campground below the Main Dam and Engineers Point are closed to the public. The US Forest service would be the best bet for up to date information.
