The treatment was fine, but the cost was way too high. I told them I had a budget of $1000 and they came back with a $1200 bill just for tests. >-< Ended up getting it under budget, but it seemed like they were disappointed they couldn't get more. Also had to pay out of pocket for food they said they would include in my receipt, but I didn't really care at the time.

Med vet columbus- Would give 0 stars if I could. Unless your dog is literally bleeding to death be prepared to wait 8+ hours. Was told my dog was non critical and to take to the vet the next day, which I did. I was told my dog was on brink of being septic bc of a pancreatitis. A week later, my dog is sick again so I try med vet because it's a Sunday night. Likely still his pancreas, so I check in and am told again he's non Critical and it's max4 hrs but she's over estimating. So I wait. And wait and wait. As my dog throws up in the waiting room, I noticed a brown dog has come and gone all while we're still waiting - it's been 3 hrs at this point, 12am. The brown dog ate something, not sure how this is more critical dog w horrible pancreatitis . So I ask again, how much longer. Oh another 4 hrs because they are now going down to 2 Dr. How about the Dr stay to take care of the animals that have been waiting?? My dog goes to the cardio here and I'll be finding a new vet since I refuse to give med vet a single cent. Let alone the 2k they charge. For an annual cardio visit.

I wouldn’t recommend medvet to anyone after my experience. My cat started having what appeared to be UTI symptoms, and since we wanted to be safe we brought her into Medvet on a Wednesday evening because our vet could not get her in until the following evening and said it would be safe to take her to urgent care due to her old age. It took around six hours just for them to say they don’t think it was a UTI but it was due to pain from her arthritis in her back and legs which was already diagnosed over a year ago and these symptoms started that week. They sent us with pain medicine and said the results would be in the next day for the other testing. We didn’t receive a phone call the next day, and thought maybe it was taking extra time so we let it go another day. We called Friday only to be told results wouldn’t be in until Monday and they would call. Well 9pm Monday came and they didn’t call so we had to call them. They then didn’t call back until midnight Monday to tell us that the culture sent to the lab was positive for a UTI. After nearly a week of my cat not being treated for her UTI we got the medicine Tuesday evening waiting over an hour in the lobby which was supposedly filled at 8am that very Tuesday. My cat now is having the same symptoms again DAYS after being done with her antibiotics and i called to see what they could do and they say we need to come back in and reopen the case and redo ALL the tests again which already cost us $1300 from the first visit. They’re just in it for the money. Do not go here EVER.

Terrible service I hit a dog and I took it to the closest place to get treatment as soon as we walked in they said it was gonna cost around 2500 to 3k and asked if I would pay the bill I said no it was not my dog then they asked me if they could put the dog to sleep that ot was on critical condition I said absolutely not it's the owners decision and they should get to make it and say goodbye. That night I got a hold of the owner she picked her dog up took him to his own vet which was a quarter of the amount of money they wanted and the dog was released the next day! Imagine if u would have said yes to put the dog to sleep this poor family would be without their pet I would never take another animal there.

We are thinking of putting in a water softener. The city water is so very hard here. Is it safe for parrots, dogs and cats for drinking and bathing?

S Killen | Oct 3, 2020
Ray Reece | Oct 3, 2020

"...it is safe for human consumption. This includes consumption by pets. As with humans, softened water isn't recommended for pets that have a restricted or sodium-free diet." "The exceptions to the rule are water softeners not based on ion exchange to make hard water soft. These so called water conditioners work salt-free and therefore don’t increase sodium levels." Personally I would suggest a whole-home reverse osmosis filter. Removed impurities like calcium and magnesium without the ion exchange associated with a water softener. Bathing in soft water isn't an issue because they aren't consuming it. As a disclaimer, I am not a veterinarian, and questions asked on Google Maps typically aren't answered by business staff but by normal, everyday people that frequent those businesses. I would suggest that you call and talk to your veterinarian directly to determine what's best for your pets.

Amanda McArthur | Oct 4, 2019
Josie Kroeckel | Oct 4, 2019

Hello! That is very concerning and you should have him seen as soon as possible. Fair warning, since it has been this long that it's been going on he is most likely very sick now and may cost a bit to get him healthy again. But if you don't have the means, that's nothing to be stressed you can always surrender him to make sure he will get treatment and survive
