Found this place at 5pm, man was leaving for night in which I stated I had 10g of platinum as I handed a bag to him w/platinum. He stated come by at 8:30am and will shoot gun at it and determine value. Stopped in at 8:30am to have him point gun at it as he did 3x's & he gave me a look. He stated it was 95% steel & 5% chromium. I said it could not take the heat if it was those elements. He never showed me the results of the gun. Not once, I thought he would did not. So I grabbed my platinum and left and thought the police must have a hand in what he just told me. If it was it would be magnetic, and it was not. Now it's time to call the better business bureau because this man cost me time and gas money for a lot nothing. If this man was a professional jeweler, then he should've know when I handed him the platinum the evening before. This man is a liar .

"Silver Dollar" is sometimes a "catch all" term. Peace Dollars 1921-1935 were technically the last "Silver Dollars" (90% Silver) offered by the US Mint. Same with the other coins ending in 1964. 1965 began the other than silver alloy still used currently for circulated coins. There are some exceptions like Silver Proof Sets or some Commemoratives that contain silver but "pocket change" usually not. Susan B. Anthony dollars (1979-1999) are copper-nickel alloy currently on worth the face value since millions were produced and contain no precious metals.
