Unfortunately it isn't as easy as you giving the name of a piece of equipment and them telling you whether or not it's covered. For insurance companies you have to have what's called a hcpcs code for the insurance to look up. And usually members don't have those codes. They can always contact the dme company or their provider to see if they can provide them the code. Otherwise as far as the insurance company knows there are various models of the item you're looking for. There might be stipulations and requirements in order for the member to have the item. It's not as cut off and dry as members want it to be.

I found a place in covenant, la that excepts Louisiana Healthcare connection, but I’ve been waiting almost a year to hear anything back from the insurance company regarding approval and I’ve done all the preliminary stuff. Be sure to check the top right corner of their listing to make sure they're accepting new patients. I noticed one in the list that isn't.
