Unfortunately it isn't as easy as you giving the name of a piece of equipment and them telling you whether or not it's covered. For insurance companies you have to have what's called a hcpcs code for the insurance to look up. And usually members don't have those codes. They can always contact the dme company or their provider to see if they can provide them the code. Otherwise as far as the insurance company knows there are various models of the item you're looking for. There might be stipulations and requirements in order for the member to have the item. It's not as cut off and dry as members want it to be.
dental is covered - braces are not.

I found a place in covenant, la that excepts Louisiana Healthcare connection, but I’ve been waiting almost a year to hear anything back from the insurance company regarding approval and I’ve done all the preliminary stuff. It’s frustrating. Keep in mind I live in northeast la so that place is 4/5hours from me.
No, you can simply have your insurance with your job as primary and still have medicaid as secondary. just inform your doctors and your insurance of this change.

Hi Shona - Thanks for your question. The easiest way to find a chiropractor is using the Find a Provider search on our website. https://findaprovider.louisianahealthconnect.com/ There are several in-network chiropractors in the New Orleans / Northshore area. Be sure to check the top right corner of their listing to make sure they're accepting new patients. I noticed one in the list that isn't. If you'd like help, our Member Services team would be happy to help you find a provider and explain your benefits. Please give us a call at 1-866-595-8133, Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Hi, Tommie! The dates of Open Enrollment are set by the State. When the state announces the dates of Open Enrollment, they will send a letter to Medicaid members to let them know. This letter will come from Healthy Louisiana, and it will have all the instructions you need on what to do. It is important to make sure your address is current with the state and your Medicaid health plan to make sure you receive your letter! We hope this information is helpful!
