First the positive, the little town of Trout Lake is a very cute little town with some nice nearby natural attractions, I would definitely visit here again. The campground however was probably the dustiest campground we've stayed in, and we're on the road the majority of the year so have seen many campgrounds. Most the sites weren't very private and not that nice. Site 24, where we stayed, had the creek right behind it and we felt was the one nice spot in the campground but it didn't have electric if you need that. Besides the dust the was just one trash bin for the campground and it was seriously overflowing when we arrived and wasn't emptied for another two days. If there had been many animals in the area it would have been a true animal magnet. It was definitely a health hazard. There was only one restroom, with one stall in the men's room (2 in the women's). A church group came in for the weekend we were there with about 30-40 people over 3 or 4 sites and once they arrived accessing the bathroom was nearly impossible. If we visit the area again we will definitely find another place to stay.

Super sad. Only one thing ruins this terrific place. There's apparently a large family reunion that takes over for a week each summer. They play LOUD music and yell and scream profanities late into the night. Apparently there are family connections with the Parks folks, the town, and nearby law enforcement, so all attempts to mitigate are hopeless. NONE of the rules seem to apply to them. Fires in the middle of clear fire bans. Sound. Walking through other folks' campsites yelling. At midnight. I'm guessing if you come any other week you'll be fine. Happen to come during Hell Week? Don't plan on sleeping... Like I said, it's a cool place, so it's sad to have it ruined by selfishness. ** It's now 2 am. Yelling. Screaming. Thought I'd update my review since I'm not sleeping tonight (nor is my 13 year old daughter). Sheriff Deputy says he came out and, "Asked them to tone it down a bit". Says he's not coming out again. 45 years of camping, I've never had an experience like this. Come here at your own risk. πŸ˜•

Peaceful. We were here in late May / early June and it was maybe 10% full. There are clean bathrooms and pay(quarters) showers with very warm water. The camp hosts were very nice. We have since returned each year for 3 years so far, that is how much our group has enjoyed it. The prices are reasonable and the staff work hard to keep it clean. *** There are reviews being shown here that have NOTHING to do with this campground. ***
