I just pulled over here so I could call my father on Father's day and after about 10 minutes I saw 2 large beautiful bald eagles that got closer and closer, till they flew right over head as it was drizzling. It was so beautiful and exciting. What a treat for a traveler from Phoenix Phoenix AZ by way of Las Vegas. Whis I would have gotten a picture but at least I was in the moment. Thanks for this beautiful place to find respite and rejuvenation.

Spent a few hours with a lovely river view. Only downside is huge pot holes at the entrance and exit, but once inside the park the road is great.

I have long wanted to see "The Rock", Castle Rock's namesake so we stopped at Lion's Pride Park and walked the paved trail to the rock's trail head. It was an OK day for February with lots of fishing activity on the river's bank. There were some nice river views, but if you wanted to see the rock that reminded everyone of a castle, you are a couple of hundred years too late. The rock is overgrown by trees, grass, ivy and ferns. The nice thing was that rocky base kept the trail from being too muddy. It was a slow short hike to the top where a covered picnic table sits. The river could be seen from the edge of the rock. Several keep out signs are present to remind you of the hazards of attempting a climb down the edge. Hiking down the steep river side does not look rewarding, so no sign was need to deter me.

Another Castle Rock Gray you can dump your RV waste for free for the traveler there is clean bathrooms always friendly people and great River fishing. The photos are of the general vicinity of lions pride Park you've got everything from BMX to skateboard four-wheel drive fishing basketball hiking paved trail walking and as you can see from the pictures it's breathtakingly beautiful a great place I would suggest time and time again to at least visit once with the family
