Great short walk. Its not hard at all we took our 3 yr old nephew. The waterfall itself does not have a watering hole not can you really climb down from the bridge to the water, not safe. BUT if you enter from Hwy 215 you will have to cross the water on stepping stone, good little spot to get feet wet or let the little little ones to sit in the water, go further and you will walk past a little waterfall where you can get your feet wet again and kids can sit and get wet.

Really enjoyed the trip to the falls. The small creek at the campsite trailhead was roaring from heavy rains the night before, but we just waded through barefoot and carried on. The first small falls is nice, but as others have said, that's not the main attraction. Carry on up the old road a good half to 3/4 mi further. Also, pay no mind to the dropped pin on G-Maps (as of this writing on 4/13/20, the pin is about 1/2 mile off target, too far southwest and far to close to NC-215). Even if the edit I submitted changes it and gets it right, just go up the logging road. You'll know when you see it.

Awesome winter hike! Trailhead from Campground leads to the Lost Bridge at The Falls, continue up to Stone Heart, and only a short distance to the Overlook of the Upper Valley.

An easy hike from a small turn off marked with a camping sign. The Google gps location isn't quite right; it takes you too far north. The kids loved it. There's a creek crossing early that's the best place to splash. Then a small waterfall, then on up the trail the actual falls which are really tall. You're there when you get the big concrete bridge.

Questions & Answers

Looking to check out this waterfall and of course let the kids splash around a bit. How do I go about finding both when it seams from several it's tricky to find.

Just look for the little brown tent sign on the road Google sends you to. There's a small washed out parking area. From there follow the trail. You can't miss it.
