My husband had a bad fall in Aspen, followed by two many strokes. Since then his mind has not been clear. Two top neurologists in California were unable to help. We moved to Charlotte in January. I recently discovered The Ivey and it is nothing short of a blessing! My husband attends there four days a week for four hours, and it has completely changed his outlook on life. Whereas he sat and watched television for hours each day before, he now looks forward to attending The Ivey and I find him looking things up on the Internet, doing small chores around our house, and making dinner reservations.

Hi, Lynne - although this may change soon, currently Medicare covers medical care and rehabilitation, but does not cover adult day care, in-home care and any other custodial care. Adult day care is currently private pay and can be reimbursed via long term health care insurance benefits. VA Aid & Attendance provides benefits for custodial care to qualifying veterans and their surviving spouses.

If you have long-term care insurance or qualify for Veterans Aid & Attendance, you may receive monetary benefits directly to defray some or all of your out-of-pocket care expenses. Currently adult day care is not covered by Medicare and The Ivey does not accept Medicaid.
