This is a great parking lot to the trail along the canal. It was a perfect place to go running, especially since there were hardly any hills right along the canal.

This was the Mt. Judah Loop Trail. Normally has great views over Donner Lake but the California fires obscured them this day. I need to add improved air filters are needed in addition to an escalator. Ignoring the bad air it was a great hike. At the bottom of the trail was a sigh that had handouts from the Donner Summit Historical Society. Very well put together handouts with maps, history and lots of historical pictures of this area. It is always fun to learn about the history of an area while hiking through it.

Beautiful, scenic trail along the canal. Plenty of flora and fauna to enjoy. Relatively easy hike once you get off the trail leading from the Gracie Road parking lot. Not much parking but it's free!
