Beware of the local burro population. They have been known to attack and eat small children, they take their yearly pilgrimage to the mines of their ancestors. If you hear their screams in the night, they just ate. Also helicopters come in the night. Those are vegas mobsters fishing things out of the lake, since the water is getting lower.

Great place to stay if you can’t get a spot at valley of fire state park campgrounds. Bathrooms are clean! It’s kind of a long drive in and there really isn’t much to do, but it’s a good second option!

Camped here for free many times in March. Long dirt road with potholes and washboard leading to campsites. I made it in my front wheel drive Hyundai. There are many upper campsites and also waterfront options. Listen at night for the wild mules! Careful, it gets windy sometimes

This is just a dispersed free camping area, 15 day limit, one vault toilet in the most inaccessible area to the campers below. Stewart's Point is a declining recreational cabin area and lake is very low. Two stars for ugly tamarisk weedy vegetation, trash all along the shorelines and the general uglyness of the entire site including abandoned old vacation cinderblock houses. Only good thing about this area was the great cell service to search for another boondock location!

I would not go to Stewart's Point without being fully supplied. It's true boondocking.
