Some of the reviews on here are for the private RV park ACROSS the road! Folks need to review the correct facility and not the NPS CG. Seems the pvt run rv park across road has issues! Anyhoo, The Upper Echo Bay CG is run by the NPS and has a camp host. Only one loop seems to be open in winter and about 1/2 of those are rv size..rest are more suited to back in vans and tenters. Note that sites are $20/$10 senior with a 30d stay limit. Trash, water, vault toilets, and an rv dump. Cell service is ok at the upper cg, but very limited at lower cg. Not sure why.

Best phone reception in the area. No power but do have fresh water and dump station with flushing toilets.

Pretty awful place to camp. The sites are super close to each other. Less than a mile down the road there is a rundown hotel? It's super creepy. And there is a junk/scrap yard next to it. If you feel like being in a cliche horror movie then feel free to camp there. For 20$ you get dirty bathrooms and gravel camping sites separated by bushes. I recommend reserving a campsite in the valley of fire. Much nicer, but very few camping spots.

I do a lot of camping. Most of the time very back-country. I came here with family and it was a great experience. The camp host was friendly and knowledgeable of the area and it was a great time. Not the best option for shore fishing, but boat fishing would be great. There is plenty of places to explore around the are within a twenty minute drive. Also did some hunting near here and saw some awesome wildlife.
