I went to confirm my dogs pregnancy and after an xray revealed no puppies inside the enlarged belly, Dr. Kelly Triana said that i should get an ultrasound done immediately. The only one available at that time (5pm) would be a 30 minute drive at a cost of $800 to $1000. If the ultrasound revealed no puppies my dog would have to have emergency spay surgery at an additional cost of anywhere from $2500-$4000. Even after telling the vet that I wouldn’t pay those costs but would opt for euthanasia she offered no alternatives. Thankfully I took my dog home who was otherwise perfectly happy and healthy and sought a second opinion the next day. Fearing that my dog would have to be put down I broke the news to my children who bawled their eyes out. A day later I took the dog to another vet who performed a $50 ultrasound to be reveal a healthy pregnancy. If you want to get misdiagnosed by incompetent vets and price gouged by all means go to Sedgefield Animal Hospital. By the way you’re not allowed to post with zero stars you have to put one in order to be able post at all.

Took my 2 German Shepherds there and was very pleased as well as impressed. Got a good check up, shots, and found a new doctor for my 2 buddies. Thanks so much for your help and patience.

I'd been living part time in Greensboro to finish college for a couple of years. My final year I moved down full time and brought my elderly heart dog with me. He'd been in kidney failure for quite some time at that point. We only went to Sedgefield twice. The first time was to just do his yearly checkup and a couple of months later, to say goodbye. I wasn't a long term client and it had been a battle for months to keep my boy well. When the time came, it was in early June of 2020 (the height of the COVID shutdown) and I knew at that point that it wouldn't be fair to make him sit in the car for 2 hours to drive back to our home in Charlotte. I called Sedgefield that day thinking that I'd more than likely be told I'd have to take him to an emergency vet after hours and not be able to stay with him, but Sedgefield was so compassionate. I can't remember their names specifically, but the vet we'd seen for his checkup earlier that year said that she and a tech would stay after and meet me there. Their back yard area is beautiful, green grass and a nice big tree for shade. My Pootie dog and I used to love lying in the yard together at home in the shade. They brought out a blanket and when I carried him to it they were both crying as well. It was the perfect day. I don't think we could've had a better experience anywhere else. It has been two years now since that day, and I'll never forget how well it went considering. These folks actually care, and coming from someone who worked for 15 years in the pet industry, that should mean a lot. Thank you, Sedgefield. Pootie and I will never forget our last day together with you.

How much does it cost

As a Sedgefield patient for years, their prices are competitive and the quality, skill, and professional knowledge, makes them one of the best in town. Their dental services are also top tier. The staff is super friendly and always eager to help. Great place, worth the drive and price. I believe their basic wellness exams are like $70.

Do you only specialize in pets dental problems? My dog's issue is not dental related. My doggie has a sore on her leg that just can't seem to fully heal.
