Nightmare place. Huge piles of garbage in back 10' high which attracts rats. My two SERVICE DOGS were picked up from my private property based upon a lie: "10 day rabies quarantine" by Animal Control. They have been there 6 months based upon another lie by a local drug dealer, now imprisoned in an adjacent county. Trapper, a Law Enforcement CANINE busted the lying "witness" for a pound of meth in 454 baggies for "personal use." No investigation was done by our JoCo D.A. nor by GP Police, nor by Animal Control, nor by the Sheriff. My dogs are "well behaved" according to staff at the Shelter but they can not release them until I go thru a trial to bring my witness who will saw the entire event and shall testify that the intruder broke my fence, threatened the dogs with a picket, jumped over and committed multiple crimes on my private property. This is cruel and unusual punishment for me, the victim and my dogs, secondary victims. This system is extremely flawed. Now I am told that after Animal Control Officers held my dogs under the exhaust of the running truck to make them nearly pass out to pick them up, my male dog has CANCER and may die before trial. Anytime we speak to the District Attorney their response is: "euthanize the dogs." These are well trained Service Dogs that did nothing wrong. They protected their sibling puppy who was bit by an unruly Pit Bull mix thru the fence on private property and all the county cares about is that if I lose the trial, I must pay them $14,000. It is only about MONEY because David Daniels cannot budget the Sheriff's funds and the county does not care about DOGS so the shelter relies on donations and dereliction of proper duty by Law Enforcement. This is a corrupt way to glean money from the public and torture for my dogs to be locked up in a small cell together for 8 months. I am voting for Jon Knapp for Sheriff. Let's clean this mess up!

Very sad the way animals are treated here. Animals are not considered living beings in Oregon, they are Personal Property like women were when they married only a few decades ago. The minimal funding that is given by the Sheriff's Department must be amended! The people that work here collect bottles and cans to redeem to feed and house the animals in small, old, rusty prison like cells. The Sheriff makes $192,000 a year, spends millions on the jail and an armored tank to confiscate millions from farmers who don't pay taxes but certainly the animals are left out of the funding budget.

Just an easy, kind, beautiful experience! We had a beloved cat pass away very unexpectedly and have been heartbroken. On top of that, we've had several disappointing attempts at adopting a new family member. …

If younger than 16, you would need a parent to go with you. You can call and double check the age requirement. I may be wrong on the 16 age.
It's out in Merlin the animal society they would love it
They rent traps
I do not know maybe.
I get mine at Pacific Vet. Same time I get the shots. They send a yearly renewal. Otherwise need to go 715 NW Dimmick St or 1420 Brookside Blvd.
