I just left there trying to buy a chain for my mountain bike. He seemed to find one on a table nearby without packaging and covered with grease. I asked if it was a 3/32 or 1/8 chain and he did not know what I was talking about. The other man there said the chain was for a 21 speed, so I said fine. Then he said it would be $30. $30 for an open chain with no packaging, with nothing indicating how many links were there or what brand it is. It was likely a used chain that is stretched out like the one I am trying to replace. I won't be going back.

Grayson and Barney (hoped I spelled those right) were awesome. I brought my bike in for a mis-aligned derailleur and some slightly bent gearing. I expected to have to drop the bike off and pick it up in a couple of days since it was later in the day. Amazingly they were able to take a look instantly and got right to work making some tweaks and repairs. Super friendly and stand-up guys. Happy to have them so local to me on James Island.

Mikes bikes is hands down the best bike shop in Charleston! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and kind. Fast and efficient service too. I walked in the store and had a quick conversation with two of the employees and we decided on the correct size I needed. They took it down serviced the bike and in 15 minutes I was on my way! They have a customer for life. Mike should be proud to have such a competent team working for him.
