Nicely restored B17! The mission presentation was well thought out and the center was knowledgeable and well prepared. Great memorabilia from that era. Props to the brave Mighty Eighth Air Force.

This place is both sad and really informative. I was raised by family who served in WWII. I also have inlaws who were on the other side...Germany. My mother in law experienced the nightly bombing raids from B-17 's as a young girl. One of her brothers died on the eastern front. Her brother was a Junkers JU87 pilot in the Luftwaffe. He to was on the eastern front but he survived. My father was an engineer in the Merchant Marines. One of my uncle's was a combat engineer in the Pacific. This museum means so much to me.

I'm sure they would love to speak with you. So much respect from the curators here. Talk to Pete Knepton.
Yes, but not very much and well worth the minimal price. Tons of history, full airplanes, outdoor memorial gardens, church and restaurant.
Definitely a good place to research that.
My husband is a veteran and we're both senior citizens so our cost was $10 each. This was well worth the price!
Closest airport is Savannah
Do you have a picture of it?
The escape and evasion exibit also has a picture of the secret room in one of the Dutch resistance houses in a small town called Lichtenvoorde.
Only for service dogs
No
I would call the museum directly
That's a Boeing B-47 Stratojet which is one of only 23 surviving airframes, none of which fly. It was the predecessor to the B-52.
Regular hours from 10am - 5pm

You would need to call them about that. Not sure if they have a shuttle, do not believe so. I'm almost positive they would hold your bags. Everyone there are very friendly and welcoming.
I won't be there, so I am unable to respond. You may contact your group or the museum.
I went with my dad and had a great time, so even if it does not work, it's still a great time.
It formed in Savannah in January 1942 and began arriving in England the following summer. By 1945 the Eighth Air Force's 3,000 airplanes flew missions from approximately 60 air bases in an area northeast of London known as 'East Anglia'. The 8AF lost 26,000 men during the time it operated from England.

The records of all WWII servicemen are in St Louis. I recommend that you go to a local air force recruiter, they can provide you a form to inquire about his records. My father drove on the Red ball Express, and I went to a local Army recruiter in NJ and I was able to get the form and get my father's records and even replacement medals. Perservere, as it will take time to get an answer. In total, it took about a month just to get a reply, and about another year to receive the medals. Good Luck !
They are open 9-5 on Sundays, I just looked at the times that are on this app. Hope that helps!
Yes. When you go into the museum's front door make an immediate right.
They are usually open on Dr. Kings birthday., But probably safer to call the museum directly in case of special events schedule
Sorry don't know
