SC DEW is one of the worst organizations in this country. They don't help anyone with a problem. They will deny your claim without looking into your issue properly and on top of it their response time is immensely slow. There are spaces of time in which you cannot get someone on the phone for several minutes to a couple of hours (if there's an answer at all!). They do not have the goal of helping people, but they will quickly ignore or dismiss you. Trash organization with trash people. I would've given them a 0 rating, but you have to give at least 1 star in order to rate.

Did not get my $300 for this week. When are they starting this payment?
I’m having the same problem
I have called for weeks regarding my claim hold for close to an HR just to be told I can't answer that then b transferred to some arrogant agent who thinks they own the money then when I ask some question I'm not getting an answer to I keep asking because I'm not satisfied with their answer they hang up after being rude and so unprofessional I've been hung up on 2 times in one day plz upgrade the system or develop an app. someone plz help
I wrote directly to the Director of DEW. His name and address are on the home page for DEW. Also, I emailed the governor's office 3 weeks ago but never received an answer. That's pathetic constituent service.
I am literally having this same issue.
I went by there they are closed security came to the door and told them what I needed and they had me sit down and went and carried my check back talk with someone came back and asked me a couple more questions and then someone came out and helped me. So possibly you can . I just took a chance and went down there.

No it's across the street.
You will have to stay on hold for more than an hour to speak to someone. Ive called every week. Usually for two hours or more on hold. All of my CORRECT information has been submitted. I still have not received any payments. They know i recently had abdominal surgery and cannot work yet due to TWO organs being removed. Too much fraud i guess. Im the one who should be awarded. All of my bills and my insurance is ready to lapse. And im also about to lose my residence. Good people suffer ... The wicked get what they want
Go onto the sc works website and make an account. They track you looking for employment on the website.
There is NO automated option. This the worst government office ever, try calling at 8am on the dot but do plan to still wait a hour. I hope you truly get help , most people dont.
You have to go to SCworks.
South Carolina
I had tried for months to get someone at this agency for help, none was ever given.i finally went to building and didn't get input did get contact information and did receive call from them today. They are under staffed
If I told u that you would know more than me
Confederate memorial day They are closed
Just show up. Apparently first thing Wednesday mornings is best.
Listen i have been fighting this same battle and I have filed my appeal based on my employer was racist and misogynistic. I dealt with it for over a year. They said I quit so to bad I should of stayed and just kept dealing with the comments from my employer based on what my pay was. I have now filed for PUI pay and also filed a complaint with EOC. Keep up the fight.
I have had nothing but trouble with the unemployment office i. Am going to file a complaint against them soon
Not sure probably under profile
Mine is still pending from July 26th, 2020
For the Lost Wages Act(LWA), all you're required to do is answer your Identity Verification questions, however, you have to ALREADY BE RECEIVING at least $100 in Unemployment Benefits to qualify for the LWA...
Unless you bank with "Bank of America", go to "B of A" and cash your check with them...they may charge you "a fee" of $7.50 if you don't have an account with them so be prepared for that...otherwise your bank may require you to have "sufficient funds" in your account or they would have to put a hold on your check...
Can someone please tell me if the office in Columbia is open for appointments? I need to see a human person in person.
The only number that I have is 1(866)831-1724...and just listen to the prompts for whichever one is closest to what your trying to get accomplished/complaint...
Meaning I need appeal
Having same issue and no one will answer the phone been on hold for about 6 hrs now still on hold as I type it’s a joke
You will have to call 1(866) 831-1724, to have someone direct you to the right dept to be able to do that...sorry I wasn't able to help you more...
Everyone is having this issue
In my opinion and in most cases, when they're waiting on Federal $$$, they have to make sure that they're using the $$$ appropriately...they also have to make sure that their portals can handle whatever way that they're loading it and that's usually the problem...after they update their portals and check it several times, then they can, and are able to send it out AFTER they receive it...
I'm sure that they have a fax #, I too don't know what it is...Sorry...
You can file and see. It is an automatic no unless you try.
Mines was on 09/01/2020. Still nothing. You wont get any help if you call, some people wont even take claimant number but will keep you on the phone for hours as if they are working on something but are not. After the employer has missed their deadline, 10 days, its suppose to default to "you was let go at no fault of your own". People are on vacation here, you best bet is to file a complaint.... ive tried everything else
How do I apply for lwa through email
