Decent homes, sub par neighborhood. D.R. Horton neighborhood down the road is beautiful but ours was left incomplete.

My family moved into our Keystone home in Beech Island about six months ago. We were excited to live in a brand new community however we haven’t been thrilled with the care that Keystone has put into the neighborhood. The grass has been partially mowed once in the last six months and there seems to be no progress on landscaping the front of the neighborhood besides the fact that home construction has been complete for several months. We don’t understand why there is an HOA when we get no benefit from our dues. There has also been a lot of issues with water drainage in the neighborhood. If you are looking for an aesthetically pleasing community, I would not recommend building in a Keystone neighborhood.

We built a home in the new Jackson Landing Subdivision in Beech Island. The houses around us all look nice but the front of the neighborhood looks like garbage. Keystone neglected to put in front landscaping. They say it is the job of the HOA (they chose an outside management company) and the HOA says it is Keystone’s job. We are embarrassed to tell people where we live because it looks like trash out front. Communication with Keystone was always terrible. Our builder Chris was wonderful but overall it was not a great experience. There is a new subdivision down the road which isn’t even close to complete and they already have all of the front landscaping finished and well maintained.

PLEASE READ ALL THE ONE STAR REVIEWS BEFORE BUYING!! You’ll notice a very common theme and my home was no different. This company will do anything to save themselves a buck and it’s at your expense. These homes are all finished by Keystone teams of unskilled laborers that don’t speak any English meaning that even when they do agree to fix an issue they send out the same unskilled team to repair it, often times creating more issues, and you cannot communicate the issues to them due to the language barrier. VERY FRUSTRATING!! There will be paint all over the floors, countertops and outlets. Not a straight paint line to be found throughout. It’s as if these homes were finished in the dark. Poor quality trim wood, doors that are falling off hinges and or painted and closed too soon. HVAC vents not properly affixed to the duct work causing lack of efficiency and excessive pests. Cracks in concrete from day one. It’s actually pathetic what they have done to this home by cutting all possible corners. Trust me and all the other ONE STAR reviews when we tell you to AVOID THIS BUILDER AT ALL COSTS!!

Does anyone have any problems with the workers not using the portapottys and goes outside instead?

No, the portapottys are in close proximity to the job sites and always before the crews start the work

Moved into 2012 Keystone home that has no garbage disposal. I want to install one. There is a light switch that is between sink and dishwasher that appears to not work anything. Do the builders put in a switch even if they don't put in garbage disp

Hi Carl More than likely it is for a disposal. If you have a septic system on your home we pre wire the home for a disposal but don't install one. There should be a metal junction box in the cabinet under your sink for the electrical connection. I'm an Electrical Project Manager that has worked with Keystone Homes for 10+ years.
