While Outpost will remain informed on any new developments, challenges exist in the food system due to the following conditions: -The potential exists for glyphosphates to become persistent in the environment because of widespread use of the chemical in commercial agriculture. -The potential exists for some natural and organic food to contain glyphosphate residues as a result of wind drift or ground water contamination, not chemical application by the farmer. Like we have done with GMOs, consumers must demand that their elected representatives support stricter uses of glyphosate or banning it altogether.
