They give u dog and cat food to people who need it so they can feed their animals . They also now have a Dr. There for the animals at resealed price. Thank God. And u can adopt cats and dogs there also. It's a wonderful place

I might be biased, but this is an amazing place. The people are friendly and will bend over backwards to help you with any of your animal problems!

This place is the best, the staff is very friendly, and helpful, and they really care!!

Athens Society is more and Better since they have relocated off Mitchell Bridge road, Athens Human Society is more and Better RATE OVER THE TOP
I think that it is $25....please don't quote me. Give them a call and they will answer your question.
I want one please ill pay
Hi Deanna! I checked with Athens' community cat subject matter expert, Kelly. She suggests that you contact the PAWS Humane Society, located in Columbus, and inquire about their spay/neuter resources. If you get an appointment for spay/neuter procedures, you will need to ask PAWS if there is anyone near you who can do the trapping and transport. Community cat colony caregivers really love their cats, and are generally very resourceful in helping others who share their passion for helping our feline friends. Thank you, Deanna, for having such a big heart for kitties!
Yes Joanie, that's what I would suggest doing. Athens Area Humane Society is a awesome place and the staff is great!
I would think so. I live across the street and it's a very nice clinic.
Husky mix
No. But there are plenty of general practices in and around Athens who can see your pup.
Did you find a home for the puppy?
Can i give you my kitties
Hi Glenda. To clarify, do you mean you found a stray kitten and you're asking if you can surrender it to us? If so, the Athens Area Humane Society cannot legally accept 'stray' animals. Assuming you are located in Clarke County, please bring your kitty to Athens Clarke County Animal Services at 125 Buddy Christian Way (706-613-3540). They can put your kitty up for adoption, and after a five-day 'stray hold', we can transfer the kitty here for adoption, too. I hope that helps! Our friends at ACC-AS are very kind and helpful, so please give them a call.
Here you go! Prepare to fall in love. <3
Hi Karen! We are open from 9AM to 6PM - stop by any time!
I haven't heard of them running any specials or waiving fees. I was just there last week and they were charging their normal fees. Their normal fees may seem steep, however, if you take in account what you are getting with the pet it is a great deal.
My wife is a vet there, they do get them but they're adopted very fast! Keep an eye on the website as it's updated in real time with available pets.
Are you or your husband a military vet? If so..the athens humane society used to partner with a group that paid adoption fees for vets on an adoption/rescue animal.
I saw no rabbits om their web site.
You can try call Athens Area Humane Society, but as a rule they only take animals by appointment. It is a no kill shelter so your animals must be adoptable. Try them because they have other resources. Depends on who answers the phone. I wish you luck. They weren't near full as of xmas but do not know how many animals they have now. It's worth a shot.
Too late but they weren't open. The person who commented should have checked her facts. I hope that you didnt waste a trip.
The Humain Society always have puppies... They got a litter in a week ago
Yes
Yes
I don't think they will take your pets. I tried to turn in a stray kitten but was told I had to turn it in to animal control before they could pull him out. You could talk to the Oconee animal shelter and see if you can surrender them, or try to find a friend or someone who can care for them.
I have no idea how much the adoption fees are. I was thete to spay two strays that have been hanging around my house. Sorry I couldn't help. You could try their website. Fees may be posted. Good luck.
As far as I know they don't take in animals. PLEASE call them for advice, as I know that they will steer you in the right direction.
I think it's 150 ish, dogs are 250
They are at the bottom of the hill just past or just before the Oconee County Middle school off Mars Hill Rd.
They do sometimes!
Call & talk to Leon....
What kind & where.... What exactley r u needing to know??
Yes, Madison, Oglethorpe animal shelter. They are great!
They will but they will charge a small out of county fee, if u have any friends in athens u can ask them to take them for no fee. But i would suggest trying to find a home for it urself, just because the shelter is over run with cats and kittens at the moment that it might take a long time to get adopted
Please dont give away animals for free. People will abuse them. Post them on petfinder.com and charge a modest rehoming fee. Thanks for looking out for animals!
I'm sure they will take any volunteer they can get. Very nice staff.
Call them, they have several animals that really need a home
I think it depends on whether you are surrendering or not. This humane society offers a few select dervices at very low prices (spay and neuter) but I would call for services pricing and options. As for surrendering no they do not charge.
Am looking for a poodle or chiuahua puppy to adopt. Or any short dog
