I am a 25 year old who switched from pediatric cardiology at Palmetto Richland when I turned 21. I decided to come to Lexington Cardiology and see Dr. Malanuk, as my great grandmother and grandfather were both patients of his. I will not be coming back and will find a new cardiologist elsewhere after my experience today. My original appointment was rescheduled for this morning, so I show up and was told that I was late to my echo that was allegedly rescheduled for an hour and a half before the appointment. I never received a communication for the rescheduled echo, waited around to see if I could be "squeezed in" and was eventually told that I could get the echo today and my doctor would see me "at some point." I never received any concrete information, so I opted to reschedule everything for the same day. I was then told that the soonest I could get in with my doctor would be November (3 months) from now, but I could go ahead and get my echo done. 1) Why would I want a test to be ran today if I would not receive results until 3 months from now? A lot can change in 3 months. 2) Why am I not able to even speak to my doctor for this extended amount of time? I have concerns that I need to speak to my doctor about. Dr. Malanuk is a very kind doctor, but it feels like he is overbooked and it shows in my experience of my past visits. I have seen him 4 times in the past 4 years and honestly believe I have spoken to him for a total of 20 minutes. Patients are scheduled in 15 minute intervals which leads no time for calculated care (patient 1 @ 11:00, patient 2 @ 11:15, patient 3 @ 11:30, etc.). The waiting room is always packed and I have never been called back at my appointment time. I experienced a bout of tachycardia in February and when it subsided, I called to express my concerns. I could not speak to anyone and was advised to leave a message for a nurse. I received a call back a few hours later. I asked if they would advise me to come in for a visit and was told it was not necessary and I would be fine to just come back in August (today). Attached is a copy of the only communication I received regarding my appointment rescheduling. You can clearly see this was the only letter included, as depicted by the "Page 1 of 1" in the bottom right corner. I requested an audit of the communication to see if I was at fault and missed the notice, but was told by the scheduling department that the last communication between me and Lexington Cardiology was in February, when I called with my heart concerns. I will not return to this facility and unless these issues are addressed, I would not recommend this facility to family, friends, or strangers.

I was very disappointed in the service I was provided. The nuclear staff was noisy and talkative thus paying very little attention to their patients. Appointment times are of little meaning to the staff. I wanted to walk out several times but I needed to see the doctor more. I will be seeking a second opinion.
