My parents had the foresight to prepay for their cremation, urns and transportation of the remains to the cemetary 10 years ago. The day after my father died we had an appointment with them for which they were late. The burial and wait for planned for Friday September 2nd. All of our loved ones gathered at the cemetery at 10:30 for an 11:00 burial. Unfortunately the representative from Baldwin and Baldwin never showed. Calls were made and my father's remains were an hour and a half away at the crematorium and his urn was an hour away in a different direction. All this well all my loved ones are gathered in the Sun at the National Cemetery. We were sent home. My husband Must Have Spent an hour on the phone and eventually my father's remains were delivered to my mother's home. She never wanted them to be at her home however we couldn't trust them to bring them to the cemetery. By this time there were no openings for burials on Labor Day however a very kind employee of the cemetery worked us in. Unfortunately my two sisters could not be at my at my father's funeral. They had already used the bereavement leave. We've all been in shock. It's unbelievable that the ball could have been dropped so many times to make this disaster possible.
