I visited Norwalk Hospital’s ER yesterday citing body aches, joint pain, and more just for the doctor whose care I was under to tell me that I would need to make an appointment with my primary doctor. Being under this particular doctor’s care made me feel dismissed and uncared for. For a doctor that works in the ER, he was extremely negligent. He said to me, “There can be so many things going on with you,” yet he didn’t go the extra mile to figure out what any of these things could have been. He didn’t offer me a CT scan, MRI, bloodwork, urine sample, or any testing for viruses. He got me my discharge papers and didn’t even say an “I hope you feel better,” to me before he dashed out of my room to deal with his other patients. Fast forward to today, I came back to this hospital because my body aches got significantly worse. I was paired with a much better doctor and nurses who discovered that I had covid and that’s why I felt so terrible! It’s frustrating and unfortunate to know that some of the doctors in this hospital want to get you out of there as fast as possible instead of helping you. I’ve experienced too many doctors in this hospital dismissing me and gaslighting me essentially, telling me that I shouldn’t worry about my health because I'm young or that the pain that brought me to the ER in the first place is not “life-threatening.” If you’re going to come to this hospital, you need to trust yourself and what your body tells you above what most of the doctors here will tell you. Leave it up to doctors like the majority I’ve experienced here and you’ll end up extremely ill or dead.

A terrible hospital where you will be treated with scorn, contempt, and outright neglect. I was treated in the ER and inpatient unit for mental and physical health issues. Non of which were adequately addressed in terms of care or compassion. Not only was I left primarily alone to deal with my mental and physical issues, I was outright neglected. During my stay I suffered an attack of gout so crippling and painful I almost had to drag my swollen painful feet to get my meds and food. When I asked for some simple Motrin. The nurses treated me like a junkie and scoffed at my pain. No doctor offered alternatives like steroids or even something as simple as cherry juice or ginger root. I will be contacting a lawyer for sure emotional and physical damages. Stay away from this garbage dump of a hospital. Go to Stamford or Greenwich if possible. Everyone deserves good medicine and compassion.

I was treated for a mental disorder there 4 times between 2000 and 2018. I moved out of state and finally received medical care. In 2000 the doctors there gave me a diagnosis of bipolar disorder. That was the only thing that was actually helpful to me.
