Salesman came out and gave a great talk about all the work they do, I had just purchased a home that had been not lived in for almost a year with a fairly substantial mouse infestation as well as a nest of squirrels in the attic, they told me the dates and times they would have people come out, as well as all the work that would be done. They were not very flexible for time frames which at the time was alright as I work overnights, so most times are fine for me for normal business hours. The cost was roughly $2000 for everything with an initial plan to be entered into their monthly exterminator servicing. The salesman also continually recommended that my entire attic be cleaned of all insulation and changed out and replaced for a price of $8,000 of which I humbly declined. (for reference to buy all new insulation and replace it myself would be around $1,000 at the most for not a very large attic space) After payment I was scheduled to have the first exterminator come out about a week later, he arrived almost 4 hours later than initially agreed, and stated that he as well as his other coworkers are spread thin as there aren’t many exterminators for all the areas they covered which leaves them bouncing around all corners of the state for unrealistic time frames. The exterminator himself was very professional, courteous and informative on how to prevent further mouse infestation, however I was surprised that the only interventions he did was place multiple cheaper wood snap mouse traps of which I had done throughout the house already, placed two outside mouse trap boxes and on the last day spread mouse repellent around the house, in all I estimated the cost of materials he used was around $100 for around four weeks, he came out once a week, would change the traps and leave also still unable to efficiently keep promises on time frames or even correct days which I don’t believe were his fault. The same scenario continued for the squirrel disposal specialist who would have to come every few days as squirrels have to be safely moved to different locations rather than killed, he was also very professional and changed the screen on my gable vents so no more squirrels would be able to get in. On the last day of the extermination, someone came out and vacuumed the attic however left multiple areas of insulation tossed around and instead of getting rid of the squirrel nest compiled of roughly a pound of leaves and twigs, simply covered it with loose insulation and left within an hour or so of work. In total I paid $2,000 for the “service” provided for an estimated $200 of materials used and approximately only 5 hours total of actually having someone from the company come out. I was initially also entered in the monthly $80 continued mouse treatment and removal that they advertised, which I canceled a month later when the company never showed up or even called to make the appointment. In total, the exterminators themselves were nice, informative but overworked and unable to hold to time requirements, the cost was not at all worth the amount of work put in, especially as there is a complete disconnect when trying to contact the company, as all call takers are from the main branch in a different state and couldn’t give exact time frames for exterminator arrival or give any other information regarding pest control. In all I continually had mice during and after they left, and found providing my own treatments of sealing any possible holes mice may be able to come in, same quality cheap traps bought in bulk off Amazon, and continued spraying of mint and cinnamon oil in areas of mice population was able to rid me of mice or which I still continually spray to keep them out.
