I heard so many good things about Platos closet, so I was obviously excited to see how this system works. This was also the closest one to me. I read on their website of what they were looking for, such as different t-shirts, jeans, name brands, stuff that people would want, or that's in style. So I did some research and then after getting a pretty good idea, I sorted through my clothes to get 2 hampers full of nice name brand clothes. This includes women's and men's clothes, jeans, shorts, t-shirts, cardigans, jackets, sweaters, brands like Polo, Abercrombie, Hollister, Levi's, American Eagle, H&M, Michael Kors, Old Navy, Nike, etc. So I loaded up my clothes, folded, and freshly washed, and drove over and dropped of my clothes. Found out there would be a day wait, so I still left them there and signed in. Said they would message me when to come back. I get a message middle of the next day, and drive about 30 minutes to see what their offer was. I arrive and they pull out 4 items they wanted.... out of the over 75 items I brought they picked out 4, which were very obscure and weird items that they decided to choose. They gave me 2 dollars for each item, for a total of 8 dollars. I was shocked. I stood there and looked at the cashier. I figured they would have taken some jeans, or nice t-shirts, of which they took none. To be disappointed is an understatement. I will never go back to a platos closet if this is the service they provide. If they don't want specific items, list it on the website better, or inform me before I give you all my items. I wasted my time, and the 8 bucks only paid for my gas there and back... didn't know what to expect before going there. But I definitely know what to expect now.

that's just TERRIBLE !!!! it was not my first time giving away my things to Platos, but what happened this time is horrible. I took the things, they took them from me and said that they would send messages when to pick them up. 2 days passed, there was no message, I drove into the store. The girl told me that there were 20 more people ahead of me, as they look at my things, they will inform me. I asked her again, you will send messages, the girl said YES! My phone number and e-mail are in their system. A month has passed and nothing has been sent to me. Today I went to the store, the girl could not find me on the computer for a long time, and then, as it turned out, they took my things to Donations!!!!! I had a big box and a bag and 2 more pairs of shoes!!! and for that I was given $15 and apologized!!!! Are you seriously????? I only had one container that cost $15 not to mention the amount of stuff I brought!!!! Or maybe they left all these things to themselves???? $15 is not a bad price they bailed out!!!!

They don’t buy anything. Even something with tags and never worn.

Always seems one type of person is choosing what clothes are purchased . Has lowered in my books over the last few years

Plato's Closet buys teen and young adult size clothing. Please visit Once Upon a Child (directly across the street at the south east corner of Sawmill and Hard) to sell you baby and kids items. Thank You!
You would need to take the jacket into the store. Prices are based on condition, style, and the original retail price if possible. There's no set offer until a buyer gets a look at the items you want to sell and can price them accordingly.
You can always apply. Just go to platosclosetcolumbus.com/jobs and fill out the application. You can either submit it electronically through the website, or print it and turn it in to the store you'd like to work at.
