Thought a library was suppose to be quiet.
Dr Bernard B Heller
Having lived in Westbury for more than 12.5 years, and experienced other Nassau County libraries, the Westbury library beats the others by a mile. It's amazing to me that they show recently released movies on a huge screen with multi-channel sound on Friday evening and Sunday afternoon (except in Summer, when they're closed). Besides, we should be out, enjoying some of the best beaches in the country. If your laptop is not working, they have computers available to use in a separate section of the library. They also have a HUGE selection of DVD'S & CD'S for you to take home, some for 2 days and some for a week, and for free! If you want to take the library WITH you to read a book, borrow a NOOK, a digital reader, for four weeks, again for FREE. All of the services I mentioned require you to be a member, by showing a local utility bill and a driver's license, whereupon you are issued a membership card, and a mini version for your key ring. If there's a better Library on Long Island, I haven't seen it. Furthermore, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Last, and certainly not least, they hold special events as well. Imagine a live Jazz concert or an Opera group, not in Lincoln Center, but the same sizeable theater where they show movies. Welcome to Paradise, Westbury, where everyone gets the very best of everything, but only if you live here. 'nuf said. DRBHAPPY aka Bernie. P.S. I dictated this to my phone, and, no, that software is NOT free!😎

Very helpful and courteous staff. Good technology and current material. It is fairly quite most of the time; when a group of school kids are next door their noise level carries into the main area.

This Is A Great Library when it comes to looking for a great place of peace and quiet. The librarians are very kind and helpful. There are two single quiet rooms available there if you just need your own private peaceful quiet space to study and read. Overall this is a great Library.
