The jury's still out...The College Board has been pondering this move for many years. I like the fact that it will be shorter and I like the end of the Math - No Calculator section. However, there are still many unanswered questions, such as what the scope of Mathematics will look like on this new test? How will reading passages test concepts, especially since each passage will only have one question? Lastly, how will adaptive testing (questions will morph into easier or harder questions as you go through the exam) look and will there be a significant difference between scores? I think that the College Board is doing all it can to remain relevant to colleges and universities as they navigate their way to largely test optional environments. I am also curious about how the ACT will respond. Two years ago, the ACT promised single-section testing, That has still yet to be accomplished. Bottom line: stay tuned. It will be an interesting few years.
