Find out which court she is taking you to. Sounds like small claims. Without knowing all the details it sounds it may be best to get all the proof of her not paying and the free tuition to show the judge.
Up to $1,000 is $15... if the other person live in NYC. In case of long Island or upstate, you should look up in the court's website
