A great experience for our Scout troop's trip to the BWCA. Lori and Carl were fantastic to work with, especially since our trip was COVID-delayed by a year. Meals at the outfitters were satisfying, especially the pancake and bacon breakfasts. The price for our package was extremely reasonable. Bunkhouse accommodations were simple but well-suited to a Scout group. The outfitting package worked well for our 5-night trip. Food supplied with our package was more than ample. They were friendly and helpful throughout our trip-planning phase, especially regarding route planning. Pickup from our exit point was exactly as scheduled. Highly recommend Canadian Border Outfitters for your BWCA visit!

Used them a few times I’ve roast 5 years. Very good overall. Good gear, reliable, friendly. Great breakfast. Fair rates. Negative: Bathrooms for bunkhouses could use a facelift.

The best outfitter! An excellent starting point for Boundary Waters with experienced friendly staff. Vast amount of camping/canoe trip gear. They'll transport you with canoe and gear over land/water. Bunk house style rooms are cleaner and nicer than some hotels. Free high speed internet. Scenic and perfectly situated for watching sunset/sunrise and auroras over the lake. 25 minutes from Ely. Accessible lakes, campgrounds can be driven to, including a trout lake 10 minutes away.
