These people ruined my life. I went to them to have a stem cell procedure done on my degenerative disc. Before I saw them I could atleast sit and drive a car. They first did a Discography which was very pain full, but other doctors I saw said it is point less to do a discography when my pain was obviously coming from my degenerative disc that you could see from my mri. Once I had the stem cell treatments done I was told I would start to feel better within 1-3 months. It’s been 8 months since and have been going to physical therapy ever since. I still can’t even drive a car or let alone sit for over 10 minutes without being in extreme pain. I also had a neck injury, and I thought I should get there opinion on it and compare it with other doctors opinions. And the Virginia spine institute said I needed a whole reconstructive surgery which I knew was completely outrageous. When I showed other doctors my mri images on my neck they said I didn’t need surgery. This place is really just in it for the money they ruined my life I’ve never been the same since.

Dr. Thomas Nguyen is, hands down, the best doctor I have ever had. I was first introduced to Dr. Nguyen after a work related injury of my back. Months prior to finding Virginia Spine Institute I had had an emergency surgery for a ruptured disc that was ultimately unsuccessful. For the following 8 months I underwent physical therapy and treatment by a pain management specialist while progressively getting worse, to the point that I required a walker.   I reached a point where I realized I would need to use a wheel chair if I didn’t get help - help that I was not receiving with the prior doctors. My wife looked on line to find the best spinal doctors and found Virginia Spine Institute. I met Dr. Good who performed a series of tests which determined that I had suffered nerve damage from the ruptured disc and that the initial discectomy started a cascade effect of instability in my spinal column which resulted in my only option being spinal fusion.  At the same time I was referred to Dr. Nguyen in the same practice who helped to ensure that I had adequate pain management while I was in acute pain prior to surgery and specialized pain management through my surgeries. I have been with Dr. Nguyen for years now after having had three surgeries and having ongoing issues with pain. He has taken the time to understand all of my medical conditions so that his treatment is in harmony with my other doctors. He even consulted with my neurologists and the rehabilitation center I was in after having a stroke. Beyond that though, and what I am most appreciative of, is that he called my wife and checked in with her after learning of my stroke. He is kind, knowledgeable, compassionate and forthright and I am appreciative for his whole patient approach to treatment. I honestly owe my ability to function on a daily basis to Dr. Nguyen and am forever grateful for his expert care.
