Such a great affordable option for a gym.

I started Axis about two months ago and really love the staff, the training, and the availability of classes. I started coming to Axis to help my 13 and 10 year old with speed and agility for sports and noticed they offered Adult Fitness at the same time. I figured if I had to be here an hour anyway why not make the best of it. I have worked with Matt, Adam, and Lewis and all of them are patient, funny, and helpful. The facility is clean and I feel safe. The best thing about the facility are the people and the regulars in my class. They made me feel so welcomed and often when I feel like giving up they encourage me to keep going. Last, I was able to talk to Matt about my goals to lose weight and he suggested a Nutritionist to help with my training. I really cannot say enough great things about Axis.

Questions & Answers

Is this like a gym/training facility, or a rehabilitation center, or a rec center?

We are a gym and do mostly small group and team training with athletes and adults. We also have a physical therapy clinic that operates out of the gym.

What kinds of prices, fees, charges for services are typical? I'm sure "it varies", but I'd like some examples, please!

Group classes are generally in the $15-$30 range, depending on the program and how many days per week you go. Some classes are 90 minutes. Some are 60. Team training with large groups (we take up to 20 with a team) frequently only end up being about $10 per athlete, per session. New pricing coming this summer! Stay tuned!

Are there any services for adults who gained a lot of excess weight due to years old injuries that may not have healed properly, who want to get into better physical fitness?

Yes. We have a huge range of fitness levels and ages in our adult programs. Our oldest client is 73 years old and we have many others with previous injuries ranging from backs and shoulders to complete hip replacements. Our groups are small enough and our staff is experienced enough that we can always modify workouts. Just let us know your limitations when you start up!

I just saw a bunch of kids and parents go in, with baseball bats, sports gear and the like, close to closing time. Are there after-hours activities of some kind?

Yes. We have 2 batting cages, 2 pitching tunnels, and a large turf area for fielding and rent out the full facility to baseball and softball teams for practices on the weekends in the winter. $125/hour for the full facility!
