Location: I loved the first time I was here, so I decided to come back since I was in the area. The Awakening sculpture is located right in National Harbor of Fort Washington / Oxon Hill MD area. Area: This place is an amazing spot to hang out during a Saturday or Sunday afternoon with family and kids. In the center, there is sand available for the children to play. The scenery is nice, next to the Potomac River, boats, the Capital Ferris wheel, stores and restaurants. Perfect place for photos and photo shoots, I saw many people taking pictures of their special event here. Buy: There are many stores, restaurants, and food trailers that are easily accessible to everyone. Parking: Parking wasn't too bad the first time but this second time: it was horrendous! I understand because it is a pretty spot for family and kids to spend time doing a little bit of everything but I wish there was more accessible parking for everyone. Walking is definitely required depending on which parking garage you parked at.

A truly Fascinating and hauntingly beautiful sculpture that inspires awe and wonder. It’s also a great spot for photography, however it’s kinda funny how almost every Katsucon the thing is absolutely Swarmed with “Attack on Titan” Cosplayers. Definitely the best sculpture in the area and worth checking out if you’re close by. Especially during Katsucon.

Saw this back in 1994 when it was in D.C. at Hains Point near the Jefferson Memorial. Why did they move it?

The awakening is a really creative sculpture that blends in with the water really nice. It looks a lot bigger when you get up close and just makes you imagine what a world filled with giants would’ve been like. I would really recommend coming to visit a piece like this.

Yes
It doesn't close at 5
"The Awakening" is a artwork made up of multiple pieces but there only one it was originally located at Haines Point in the D.C. then relocated to National Harbor
It is multiple body parts coming out of the sand
When I was there, there were a lot of parking garages. They are not free but also not expensive.
