The experience was not what I was expecting. I won’t fault Brett’s knowledge of his craft, but his entire demeanor towards me was condescending and pompous. Leading questions regarding what the feel was for how much he could make and argumentative when conversation didn’t go his way. I explained that I was there due to a friends referral and when questioned by Brett he was not impressed when I stated my friend took the data and purchased his driver elsewhere. Brett wasn’t happy and TBH the follow on conversation by me was based on an assumption of why he did not buy from CC. When I received my paperwork I probably guessed the exuberant quote for 5 irons and a putter @$2300 was a good indicator. Brett explained the set up and asked if I had heard of smash rate, to which I stated I had heard it mentioned in conversation. To my astonishment, like a school teacher, he was all over me telling me to explain what it was exactly. I stated that I would leave the stats and tech details to him. During the putter fitting I was basically left alone to get a feel for 4 clubs. I was doing this and he asked if I was setting up each and every time. I responded with a shrug of my shoulders and was like, you asked me to get a feel for the clubs and it’s a straight put, what 7’ away. His response was flabbergasting, “ did you just shrug your shoulders at me”. At this point I was pretty much negative about my overall experience. The location was too warm and despite being a relatively fit person I was sweating and it got tiring quickly. Part of latter was the fact Brett was answering calls and dealing with customers in the shop. I wouldn’t mind, but it was occurring on too frequent basis for it to be acceptable. At $400 I expected a better experience on the day and left with an overly zealous quote for fitting,5-PW and a putter. Total price a staggering $2700. Come on. I took this to my golf club and the owner was amused to say the least. Brett did follow up with a call yesterday. I know why, and so does he, but during the conversation he asked about my experience and I politely stated that I would not be using their services in future. Quite rightly he asked if I would mind explaining this in order to improve their service in future. Now as a business owner (3 businesses) I would be very unhappy if one of my employees spoke to a customer in such a pedantic and superior manner. Anyway, he asked and I started by stating the shop was too warm for those undertaking a 4 hour physical activity. We moved on to the personal attention and his distraction with phone calls and walk in customers. To my amazement Brett boldly asked if they should lock the doors just because I was in the store. My response was right we are not going down this path, if you want my opinion of why I would neither purchase nor recommend you I am content to advise but I am not sitting here arguing with you. Needless to say Brett finished the call because he is too precious to hear out the other side of his sub standard manner. I have no doubt Brett is a good golf store professional but has to be aware of how his overtly superior attitude comes across to a potential client. I am sure CC provides a good product but my experience was less than satisfactory. Brett, a word of advice, not everyone will agree with you. Not everyone gracing your store has similar, or even close to the knowledge you have. The customer is not always right, seldom is right, but the way you spoke to me left a lot to be desired. That in itself, despite the crazy proposal was enough to see me decline your services. As you can see from my above comments I don’t suffer fools gladly, but I also think I am happy to listen and be advised on how I can make some changes to my game. I won’t ever be spoken down to like that. I hope this helps future and potential customers. Brian (Hcp 9)

Brett was bright and knowledgable. He did a refit in Edel putter and hands far better than the initial purchase and fitting at Golf tech.

My son was fitted with a VERY EXPENSIVE ($400) Fujikura shaft on his 3wood. He is not a professional golfer by any stretch of the imagination, and after 3 months of play the shaft cracked after a fat shot. Fujikura denied the warranty claim, saying that they only warranty if the break is within 2 inches of the hosel, or under the grip, based on their findings that if the shaft cracks anywhere else, it is usually from 'irregular use' of the club. So, Fujikura considers a fat shot 'irregular use'? The average golfer hits plenty of fat shots. That is the nature of the game, especially if you play on public courses. Bottom line is that Club Champion should have used a more forgiving shaft for the average golfer, not one that is clearly made for pros and low handicappers. If you are going to spend $400 on a shaft, make sure you ask about the warranty before your final decision.

Placed an order for Scotty Cameron putter with Matador Red Jumbo grip, but I received the putter with standard size gray grip. And I was told I placed an order with the gray grip. Luckily I still kept a paper copy of my order. I was told I have to wait for another 6 months because Matador grips are backed order. I called Titleist customer services to inquire about the grips and was told they have them in stock. I wondered if they just covering their mistake?

Is a Club Champion club fitting worth it?

Club Champion | Apr 4, 2022
Club Champion | Apr 4, 2022

If you are looking to improve your golf game, yes! A Club Champion club fitting is designed to help you meet your golf goals — whether it's more distance, better accuracy, fewer putts, etc. Our goal in every fitting is to find the best combination of components to help you lower your scores and play your best golf. If we are unable to find a combo that beats what you already have in the bag, we won't recommend any new purchases — the point is to play with the clubs that work the best for you. In particular, higher handicappers see the most improvement, though our fittings benefit every level of golfer.

What should I expect at a Club Champion club fitting?

Club Champion | Apr 4, 2022
Club Champion | Apr 4, 2022

Our club fittings are the most in-depth in the industry, with technology like TrackMan and SAM PuttLab at our disposal. You'll work with a Master Fitter to dial in your shaft and clubhead from over 50K hittable combinations -- this is done by setting a baseline with your gamer and using the club technology available today to find a combination that outperforms that baseline and meets your goals. Once we find the perfect fit for your unique swing using data like smash factor, carry, and more, we'll walk you through the recommended clubs, prices, and options available to order a hand-built set to match what you hit in our fitting bays. We do the same with putter fittings, using SAM PuttLab technology to find the best option for your short game.
